Description I was supposed to post this 2 years ago, But I forgot. XD

Yea, thats nearly all the guts in the system, crammed onto those tiny boards..
The wii is said to have similar construction.

And yes, it still works even after I put it back together.

Wow, dude. I should totally get rid of my Gamecube and get a Wii and see what guts it looks like. I took apart my Gamecube, too, and my Gameboy Advance, and some games, and my N64, AND it's games! I got bored

Nice =3, I've taken my GameCube apart when I owned one . I ironically had to take a old plastic pen, melt the end of it down to where it was soft and then jab it in the screw hole to make a makeshift screwdriver but it worked like a charm .

Also, the thing is almost built like some kind of lego, its very unique . And I had no problem what-so-ever after I took mine part and put it back together.

I opened up a PS2 controller because it was acting weird. I couldn't fix it and ended up throwing away.

I've also opened a SNES controller to find that the magnetic rubber pads for the D-Pad were torn.

Though, I've never dared to open up the Game cube. Sweet! I also like the ruler and quarter that shows the actual size of all the components.

cool. I've never opened my GameCube. However, I've opened a controller to clean it when I spilled Sprite in it.

I've also opened Pokemon Gold Version when it wasn't saving. the battery died.

However, I did open the NES. The cartridge reader was crooked or something, so I cleaned it and fixed the read-error. the games didn't work, or they were all glitchy. I fixed it. I've also opened up Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES. It sounded like something was loose, but the plastic things that keep the chip in place broke off. I super-glued it and it works now. I was surprised that the chip was only half the size the cartridge was!!! The chip in the GB color game fit snuggly!

Ah, the old NES, nearly all of them had that flaw, back years ago we all tried things like cleaning the cartrages and blowing hard into the carts and NES deck X3
Its because nintendo used a corrosion prone metal in the slot and it gets bent after awhile because the cart is rotated down when inserted.

Well I opened a GameCube controller already, but I never saw the GameCube open. I wonder why this thing is so cubix while there are only a few flat boards. It's extreme what much of power is running through those rather little pieces of hardware.

It's because half the thing is a heat sink and fan, and the disc reader is a bit thick, and the GC was designed to take a beating.

Nintendo have a good reputation on making good components unlike Sony and Microsoft. Nintendo make there products to last 4 human lift times

Nintendo always made very hard and bulky casings to their hardwares that were really hard to break and there's a certain perfectionism on this motherboard, so perfect, so tiny so clean... But Sony have a good reputation too (not in every respect) but Sony is part of a pantheon (STI) of large companies known for excellence such as IBM... Man IBM is so old, it's the most ancient company to make computer parts.. IBM have already made all sorts of machines.. From the STI pantheon Toshiba is the lowest so no way Sony would be bad at making components specially because the STI works for the military and bad quality is not accepted... What you're saying is basically that the Playstations don't have a good casing that survives a beating like Nintendo consoles instead Sony tries to focus on how it looks and makes a flimsy very small and fragile casing like the PS2 slim, (The normal PS2 was just flimsy but not small)... Now Microsoft is kinda newbie on hardwares I avoid buying some items from them still their keyboard is pretty good actually...

Nice to see what inside the Gamecube, I like it.

That's interesting to see. I've seen a N64, Dreamcast, and the Gamecube controllers on the inside before, but not the console.
Did you have to get past some security screws to open it up?
I know the controllers are like that.

Ah, yea, it has those odd star shaped screws, a long time ago I modified a screwdriver into a fork shape, so I could open my SNES and N64 too and clean or fix them. Which was necissary since I have messy pets and relitives.

I've done that too, but with a Torx head bit. I think they sell screwdrivers for those security heads, but they're kind of expensive cause you got to buy a big set.
