Love the Rorschach feel of the blood on the paper, a little off beat, I think the medium gives it most of its appeal, definitely a piece that invokes thought more that an immediate visual response.

At no point did I even remotely suggest the former, but the mere fact that "accepting no policy" about what is and is not acceptable behavior says that there is the remote possibility that one will argue their was unecessarily into hot water.
If someone wishes to offer a critique that may be less than stellar, there is no fault in that. If they hammer at it because of disagreement to the point where it becomes harassing or the verbage escalates into abusive (and at no point am I suggesting either has occurred here), then we have a problem -- one that may have been predicated on the "I accept no policy about it" premise.

i'm trying hard to be openminded but i have a big big trouble what's the deal with this piece... i can consider this celtic-knot-work thingy as art if it's original, but when i take it as a composition it's not harmonious with the rorschach-like blood-blot, nor they are contrast or something. economy of form ? focus of composition ? i can't see.

...I think I know why there's a mature content fliter on there, at least; "Mixed media" in this case is a euphamism for blood and ink on paper, am I right?
And of course, after reading everyone's comments, I realize I'm not the first person to come to that conclusion.
This piece is absolutely frighteningly surreal once you figure out what the media is. I knew it almost as soon as I saw it, and it drew me in. I'm not entirely sure why, but I am very, very moved by this piece.
