Description
Clayburn Moore’s Zenescope Exclusive Cover. [link]Graphite on Bristol, with Digital Colors.
Don’t you just 'love it' when someone looks at your Art, and says... “I can do that!” Really? Some can, but most folks really can’t! One of the things I love about Art, is how individual it is. A fingerprint of sorts, unique to that particular Artist’s Vision.
Being open to suggestions is a good thing, but listening to others too much... can stop our own evolution. So when others who think they can, start putting their paws all over it... nothing good can really come from it!
If unfamiliar with the Fresco...
here is the before and after "restoration" [link]
First... Do No Harm!
and Secondly... Old Lady, step away from the Fresco!

I actually think what she's done has given it more character than the original fresco. Its even more interesting that the original and lets face it its probably more famous now. Plus she's made a name for herself in the art world and thats more recognition than most artists will ever have.

I agree to that, also its a little bit awkward to see art to go into worthless crud.

Could have not said it better myself, what pisses me off is that now the town where this happened is using that eyesore as a way to attract tourism to the town. As if that thing where something to be proud about! -_-;

So terrible it was almost funny but I blame the priest a lot more than the old lady, that's for sure.

I read about this over in the ByrneRobotics.com forums, and my reaction was... WTF? :jawdropping:
Some people need to be kept away from paints and brushes. Far, far away.
Nice pic, BTW. Keep the little old ladies who only want to "help" you back, and it'll remain that way.

Haha yeah I saw that fresco recently. To be fair, wasn't that a restoration? A horrible restoration?

It just gos to show there can be only one! There is only one Franchesco! Once I wanted to paint and draw like Frazetta but I would have been just another imitator or wanna be, there can be only one. Best advice be the best you can be, your self!

One of my friends does professional restorations and she was so angry when she saw what the old lady did. Of course she was laughing at the same time. I think she was confused! lol

OH NO! You DIDN'T! I suspect it will be revealed that the elderly woman who took it upon herself to "fix"...ahem... the fresco, HAD artistic talent at one point, however, now suffers from some form of senility and her perception is skewed because of this ...

I agree with what you wrote. You art is like your signature.
Most people fail to realize that what they suggesting is what they would do or want. That's why you guys do commission for those that want something in a particular way lol
Your artwork is always great.

Thank you for the compliment, SIR MEIERLINK!
And how 'bout it... when it comes to comic book artists especially... I like being able to know who did what, just by looking at the image. (For the most part no need to look for the signature to know who drew it.)

Yes!!! My thoughts exactly. You can always recognize Jim Lee's, Dale Keown's, Erik Larsen's, & Todd McFarlane's work. I prefer Jim Lee's & Dale Keown's style in the comic book industry.
