You do realize that this threat disappointed people in the 80's with She-Hulk and it'll disappoint now when people Don't buy the book expecting a hot comic babe to show up at the door and end up just standing their with a [link] in either hand, their pants around their ankles and the waves of their hopes crashing against the rocks of despair.

Cruelty I say. CRUELTY!

But still, hot artwork! *licks the screen*

Thanks for the props, GINMAU. Always appreciating your kind words.

Anytime anywhere, you can totally get some stuff to color. And um, what's with the hate on the graphite? Graphite needs love too, my friend. The man says that comic art has to be inked... so I say... "Man, why must it be inked if I don't wanna ink it?" So let's stick it to the Man. Let's be rebels... let's color pencils! Revolution Now!!!!!!

ahem, but seriously: see if anything catches your eye, and I'll be happy to hook you up with the highres.

Looking forward to the collab.

Sorry, no preview pages, WADE FURLONG...
I'm just the cover artists on the current Sheena #1.

Good question... from the looks of my gallery, one would think I don't draw guys ever... and I would totally love to draw males one day... someone please hire me to draw some guys now and then... please. I can draw pecs... really I can, I can draw boobs, AND I can draw pecs... seriously. Have your people talk to my people.

Oh, and buy your book? Hah, make me!

WadeFurlong In reply to Franchesco [2008-07-10 09:32:04 +0000 UTC]

HA, not really though...

1- Call me wAdE
2- If you can* draw males, and want to draw males, wtf is stopping you? Are you telling me you only draw chicks because that is the only thing people pay you to draw? Draw for yourself man, I wanna see you do some art for yourself ey. Otherwise it's just a job. Peeps like chick though, so it'll sell more books I suppose. But yeah, draw something different to stir up your vigor ey. None the less, I'll check it out sometime.
3- FINE, don't bye my book, don't run away though... Pansy's run away HA The have an emi for that it's >>> If you're at SDCC though, seriously check out my book at the Brand Studio Booth with Alberto Ruiz, tell him you can't bye it, but want to LOOK at it HA!

Keep crankin bud, even if it's the dames

Hi Wade,

you make an excellent point... and I agree, drawing personal stuff is like nectar to the gods. But homeboy gots to eat... and being a starving artist is for the birds.

Funny thing is, I actually LIKE drawing them dames, even if I didn't get paid for 'em. Not that I dislike drawing males. Folks seem to respond well when I draw guys, but when I draw babes, the response is so much more, it's not even close. Either my guys are really sucky, or my girls are not sucky... not sure which is which. But not sucky can't be all bad.

I will definitely be at San Diego...
coincidentally, got my seat assignment tonight.
Artists Alley table #DD-06
yeah, I know "double dees"
...got a chuckle out of that one myself.
Sandwiched between Ramona "Brenda Starr" Frandon
and Whilce "Wetworks" Portacio
Artists Alley is wall to wall artists galore.
I am so honored and very humbled to be a small part of it.

If you're in that neck of the woods
Please swing by and say "hello".

btw: Looking forward to looking at your book.

Franchesco In reply to RalphNiese [2008-07-10 07:54:20 +0000 UTC]

Thank you BRUNO,

correct... artist/writer John Byrne blew my mind with the cover to She-Hulk #1. She broke the 'fourth wall' in that series, and spoke directly to the reader. She-Hulk was aware of panel borders and captions, and that she was in an actual comic book. The cover to the first issue having her directly address the viewer was brilliant, and totally appropriate for the tone and direction of the book.

I remember going to the Chicago Comicon, with my portfolio in hand, and dreams of being a comic book artist one day. I saw a zerox of the cover at the Marvel Booth, and it hit me like a lightning bolt between the eyes. Loved it, asked if I could have it, Editor Bobbie Chase said sure, come back at the end of the comicon and I will give it to you. What a sweetie she was. Long story short... its one of those covers that instantly became iconic in my eyes, even if I didn't realize it at the time.

Anyways-- thanks for the props on the pic... and for the walk down memory lane, my friend.

wow, fran, what a big reply! yup, memories are awesome! haha. thank you for the origin-story ...
well, i like to tell a similiar story, but here iΒ΄m stuck with my memories - they`re not that awesome...dang.

yeah, i guess, john byrne loved to draw that book and always himself in it as an ass! haha,
flipped through # 50, which is also a good issue. i would like to have the new She-Hulk series
like this, they try to get it funny, but itΒ΄s a very unsolid and distracting buy... the only book with girls i like from the big publishers is DC`s "Birds of Prey" - Nicola Scott draws some pretty girls and itΒ΄s a
fun read. yup.
