It's a group where deviants are encouraged to give and get constructive criticisms for their work. If you're interested, feel free to check it out! By the way, I'm not talking about getting millions of comments, I'm talking about getting quality and constructive comments ^^
1. When did you start commenting on artwork, and why?
I got an invitation to join this group. Since I love getting comments and giving them, I naturally joined without hesitation. I started commenting as soon as I finished reading the rules and the instructions provided on the group pages. It was a little challenging at first since I'm not used to giving constructive comments.
2. What kind of art do you like to comment on?
I like to comment on artworks that show characters and a story behind them. I like to guess what kind of person the character is based on how the artist portrayed them. These kind of artworks really catch my attention, especially if the art is stunning!
3. Nowadays, do you often or comment, and why?
I think I comment about the same in quantity, but this time I get more responses back. And my comments on the group are more lengthy. By doing it more often, I'm able to come up with what to say quicker and point out what needs improvement in an artwork.
4. What motivates you to comment? Can you name three things, minimum?
Replies where you learn new things, getting constructive criticism, making new friends
5. What is difficult about commenting? What do you usually do about it?
I find it difficult to point out something about an artwork that others haven't pointed out yet. I try to observe more and read how other people give constructive criticisms. Learn by example XD
6. What is a constructive comment, in your opinion?
Well... It's a comment that informs you of a commenter's impression of an artwork. Plus it also provides feedback about the artists weaknesses and strengths and provides helpful instructions or suggestions that will help that artist improve, then multiply all of that with words of encouragement lol
7. Is there a difference between a constructive comment and a critique? If so, what is this difference?
I'm not sure since I've never given critiques. I guess critiques are more professional? Or perhaps it's just a synonym with a fancier name. And it seems only core members can give them.
8. How often do you think you comment constructively and post critiques?
I leave constructive criticisms on the projectcomment group all the time. I tried being a little constructive on non-projectcomment submissions, but shorter, like less than 50 words.
9. Do you use a specific technique when you comment? (e.g. sandwich method)
I use the technique provided on a tutorial from projectcomment. That is the sandwich method, I believe.
10. What kind of comments do you like to receive? (e.g. constructive, critique, 'normal')
I like receiving all kinds of comments, especially if it leads to other topics that may or may not be related to the art at all, and then become friends with that deviant who I exchanged comments with.
11. Do you have any comment expectations regarding your artwork? (e.g. tips for improvement, likes and dislikes, etc.)
Overall improvement, really. Coloring, shading, painting backgrounds, anatomy, etc!
12. Do you have any pet peeves with the comments you receive, and the comments you give?
Not really. I appreciate all kinds of comments, short or long (except rude comments, which thankfully, i don't often receive)
13. In all honesty, when you comment, would you like to receive a comment back?
Of course! Otherwise, it would be a boring.
14. Do you have any tips and suggestions for new commenters and artists looking for feedback?
I'd suggest joining projectcomment LOL
And here's another one that I think would help:
Show more passion and be more friendly. Don't just sit there and wait for people to comment and check your art. You gotta explore other people's work too and leave feedback and comments. Make other's feel appreciated. Be a positive communicator!
15. Ask one question about comments you would like your tagged people to answer!
What kind of comments do you expect people to leave on your art works/literary works?
Phew! That was a looong meme!
Here, have a milkshake!
