Description
Making his debut in Detective Comics #27 in 1939 the Bat-Man was a very different crime fighter than the Batman we know and love today.

This Batman would fight various weird enemies in his home city of New York such as Doctor Death, Hugo Strange and his Monster Men, as well as a ghoulish Vampire.

His origin was not fleshed out until later, and he operated alone using gadgets such as his Bat Plane.

He would end up killing many of his criminals with a gun, something that would be removed in later years with the introduction of Robin the Boy Wonder.
