In this latest drawing from the Save Point / BomberGrrl universe thing ive been doing we have the Warmth girls - Erin, Taisiya and May (from left to right) grousing near their plane - a seaplane bomber called Deep Water (roughly based on planes like the Heinkel HE-115). This is actually one of the largest and most complex drawings i've done so far - it's on 14" x 17" Canson XL Mixed Media paper and took at least six scans to assemble a scan to post here
This actually turned into a rather important development sketch for the warmth characters - something i've been struggling with for a long time is the fact that there is a bit more edge to them than there is in the Megatokyo girls (it has to do with the specifics of the story, sorry, cant tell you, spoilers) but something came alive in this one that i think is important. i love the SavePoint universe. something about the tragedy of war and the morbid reality of being a bomber crew in WW2 is just a perfect atmosphere for this, especially since i've played the game Bomber Crew. you get attached to your crew and it's really sad when you complete a mission and only some of the crew makes it home. even more so when you've ordered a bail out but only part of the crew can be rescued and the pilot is KIA.

Considering that Clannad was such a huge influence on me and Megatokyo (even back in 1999 when they were still planning the game and it seemed like it would never be completed) thats not such a bad thing. Kanon face might be a big creepy tho...

While loving all the gals in turtleneck sweaters, this piece just looks rather impressive!! Definitely want to see more with the "Warmth" gals

Fred, I love the Savepoint-verse. I truly do. Maybe it has something to do with my own military aviation background. Dunno. This is an excellent addition!

Oh... Addendum. Who is that on the wing? She looks like another ghost. Are all aviation folk cursed to be haunted by things they wish they could forget?

she's a ghost, yep. Though not one who Taisiya and crew knew before hand. She came with the plane. It relates to the actual warmth story
