Having grown up in the dessert, Douglas is no stranger to the heat of summer. Once when he was still a young eevee, a heat wave overtook Moeru's desert village. At first it was fine, the hearty pokemon took precaution, rationed water, and got by for a while. Within a week the neighbors had gone from being their usual cheerful selves to hot tempered and belligerent. Nothing seemed to beat the heat and the water wasn't flowing like it used to.

While this heat wave was going on a stranger came through the village. And by strange there could hardly be anyone stranger! Traveling through the desert towards the nearest town was a Glaceon pushing an ice cream cart. The Glaceon was more than happy to pass out cool treats to everyone in the village reguardless if they could pay or not. Before long the children were happy and playing once again, neighbors were less harsh to one another. That Glaceon stayed long enough for the heat wave to pass and the rainy season began.

The impression left on Douglas made him realize just how important it was to keep a cool head. He set out when he was old enough with his own push cart to follow in that glaceon's footsteps. Now something of a wanderer, Douglas makes his own ice cream and sells it as he travels from town to town. He hasn't found his forever home just yet, but Pokette is on the horizon-- why not stay a little while?

While making people happy has become Douglas' purpose in life traveling has lead to many interesting adventures. Seeing so many places and so many different people and pokemon has made this vaporeon very happy himself. He takes one day at a time and while he does travel nearly every day Douglas can be found every now and again with one of his ice pops sitting in the shade staring off at the landscape lost in thought. When he has free time, as well as in the evenings, Douglas is normally busy making more ice cream to sell. Using water gun, ice beam and quick attack, he never has a shortage of crushed ice to use for his ice cream or popsicles. During any stay near a body of water Douglas will likely be seen swimming for at least a few hours every day until he moves along to the next town.
