Used to be that I was their favourite.I don't have a good memory to savour it.
I had gotten my dresses and candy and toys.
I wanted to be like her, she had so much poise.
It changed from that to this and then.
The pain and hurt was all from them.
He was gone and she was left with us.
It seemed that though, they wouldn't fuss.
But one can learn a way to live.
I spent my days alone and dim.
Solitude was what I thought,
Was normal, but I had naught
I was accustomed to take,
Living on handfuls of Great Value corn flakes
What did I have for just me?
I didn't know how to be.
Used to be was what I won't dwell on.
Used to be won't let me have any fun.
I'll carve my own path, you'll see.
I'm going to just be me.
