Yes, this truly is in my back yard, and pretty as it is, the mosquitos are horrendous. I could use a few geckos around to nab them up. It's amazing just how short of a walk it is to find a landscape that is so much like a tropical swamp or jungle area, in spite of being in the northern half of the contiguous US.
