Description
Commander SteelHank Heywood III was the Grandson of the first Commander Steel, the leader of the JSA in World War II. He was serving in Iraq when he was obliterated by an IED. He awoke in a hospital, approached by individuals who wanted to dress him with experimental cybernetics. He agreed and he was dubbed the new Commander Steel.
He learned that his benefactor was Detroit business man Simon Stagg. Stagg wanted him to fight his son in law Metamorpho. They commenced to do battle until they were interrupted by Ralph Dibney. Ralph cleared the air and invited them both to join the Outsiders.
