Description I've drawn plenty of cartoon raccoons, so I thought it would be a fine time to try my hand at the real thing. This picture is based on a photo I found on the internet, with a couple of details added. You can find the original photograph here:

To be honest, the hind feet left me a little confused... I'll probably have to return to this drawing at a later date to fix them. Mistakes aside, I feel it was healthy for me to attempt more realistic artwork, and believe that it will benefit my future cartoon drawings.

I agree with RabidElf, perhaps it's something I could look into myself.

The only thing that seems odd to me is the right hind leg, which seems to jut out from the side rather than blend into the rear. But from the base picture compared to the sketch I would say it's a trick of the eye with the different fur tones. I might suggest using tones of pencil in the future to define body shape before trying to emulate the tones of fur themselves.

That's my input anyway, I could be wrong

Studying life can be very helpful for improving cartoon work. Cartoons really are just simplified "Realistic" drawings With some squash and stretch thrown in for good measure. Good Stuff keep it up !
