To be WIP or not to be WIP.
The sketch has been sitting in my scraps for weeks now, and I've been busy lately, I've forgotten what the initial concept was. The magic crystal is a portal to the other world. You get it, lol..Decided to do some 'experimental' coloring, (okay, I admit I'm too lazy to clean it ><
I wonder if the color scheme looks okay?C & C encouraged!

Personally, I love the coloring style here. I think some concepts work their strongest when the colors are bold and still work together harmoniously. If you are hoping to fine tune this puppy, I reckon you're really about 85% there as far as making a great looking piece goes. I can easily see this piece losing some of its impact if everything becomes over rendered.

I wonder what type of world? but anyway the colours are extremely bold and impacting that gives off a more fantasy atmosphere that is amazing. I actually perform a unclean image because it seems to give off over a little bit more movement. I really like this.

Hey nice pose and scene! Suggestion, hmm... more contrast. The lighting is the key here. Make it sparkle and fiery.

I have to agree with about the swirling colours, they really grab your attention. Not only that, but it energizes the entire scheme, develops the drama and makes for a great scene. So you could say that they are the most important part of this drawing.
Even though the "explosion" itself is disordered (as explosions usually are), I love the fact there's a certain circular pattern on it that surrounds the character. It does give the feeling of being taken into another world, or at least having his own world thrown away. It's very fantastic. And I love your choice of colours! Greens, oranges and whites make for the most wonderful show, especially how they're so bright when contrasted with the dark blue background. The fantastic figures that seem to materialize from the white beams wasa very nice touch, too.
What a cute but unfortunate kid. The expression alone is priceless, and the pose is so wonderfully dynamic. He's blown back by the magics and by his own surprise, and everything's flapping around under the "storm". Just look at that hair, and the pijamas. They're literally being tossed around by the winds. Extra congratulations on the magnificently well done hands and feet!
I think the only bit of constructive criticism I can give here is that the hair isn't as lighted up as the rest of the boy. Because of the reflective sheen, you would expect it to reflect the lights more dramatically. Mind you, the hair is done incredibly well, and you should not move a strand, but you should give it some brighter lights.

The swirling colors really got my attention. I love the way you have everything moving around in away that goes along with the action in the picture. The expression on the face on the character is really ...well... realistic lol. I like the picture very much. It deserves a fave!
