Description 'boron' this is for you! I have tried soooooo hard to find a dragonfly to photograph (you find so many) - and then when i do find one it just doesn't stay still for a minute, it flew about for the 2 hours that i sat photographing it. This was my best shot mid flight

Not bad for catching on in midflight. Keep trying. The males are very territorial and will often land in the same spot over and over. If you see a dragonfly land, go over and get close enough to where it landed to get a good shot. Then you just have to wait for it to come back.

Hey thanks. I can't believe you stopped its wings like that. Great shot. Considering that dragonflies can fly up to 35 mph, that ain't bad. I'm not seeing too many of them either this late in the season. I know what you mean about them not stoppin. There is a red skimmer I've been trying to get a picture of all summer, but I think the damn thing is on speed. All I have so far are some red blurs.

thank you. Can't believe how awful it looks on the screen here. believe me it came up pretty sharp. course the season is nearly at an end so i don't hold up much hope of getting any better shot til next year

Look at you catching this little guy mid-flight! It's not terribly blurred, particularly considering he is in motion.

guess i resized this a little too small for viewing - cos it didn't look blurred on the original!
