thank you for your comments. Yeah, they are very strong - you were lucky to get off lightly when you rescued the bird (but then perhaps it realised you were helping and was just giving you a little warning about its power!). beautiful birds tho

it was a young immature mute swan, but it calmed down after it relaised i was helping it, i would never pick up a male mute swan, never there are too big and heavy for me, no problem i love ur pictures

thank you. I wouldn't pick any swan up - they are nice for me to watch from a distance - and especially through a camera lens!

oh yeah just some animals do, totally agree, i had two frogs in my garden couple of days ago, huge things, the common frog excellent creatures

what a great thing to do. I think i was really brave this year picking up my little frogs in the garden - wouldn't have done that before. It was nice feeding the ducks and geese when i visited these swans. but....... some animals just need to be kept at a distance

thanks. yes they all certainly moved, so much so that i didn't stay too close for too long. Especially when it seemed in quite a mood! the two that had their heads turned away moved away from him straight after i caught this shot.

Gues swans have seen us humans too long and close and taken some of our bad manners... No wonder they all moved away, his wing would hurt badly, even You... Once i came too close to a swan nest and the swan daddy guarded me and his home so close that my escape took so long time that got my legs sunburned, had to move back that slow!

oh dear! i haven't had that sort of encounter with a swan. don't get that close! glad you got away ok. i think swans are beautiful birds - very majestic and regal

Yes, very majestic and regal I sure agree, I got so scared that i could not decide what to do than just let time go so he calmed down alittle so then I could move back... My mistake... So, it's the wings we need to watch out, one hit can brake our arm easily... But they are a beautiful and peaceful sight in the nature. I look forward the next spring and see them moving back here again.
