My third 'goodbye-drawing' where Pin's leaving St. Canard in order to help out her people back in her mother-country.This is a lot longer than & and with more text, but contrary to Belle, which is mainly just monologue, because Millie is too stubborn to engage in a real conversation, Kachka seems to have a lot of emotional and practical inputs in regards to Pintails selfish actions.
It's always easier to leave, than being left.

And even MORE love for Kachka. She's so down to earth and realistic and just a good, GOOD person in the face of the life she's had/still has at this point... I wubs her. And you know she totally WILL kick Pin's sassy ass if she dies so everything is safe.

Actually it's not that hard for Pin to leave - at least not once she reaches Boca. she'll be plenty busy to give other people much thought, which is how she prefers it. She doesn't like to sit back and sump in guilty feelings. She's very selfish in that regard - leaving other people to worry while she won't give them much thought. It's a self-preservation-thing.

It's understandable to be honest, given what she does. It would leave too much to chance and give too much of a liability for her so in the long run it's what's best and makes what she does a bit easier on her emotionally.

Absolutely - she copes best with loses and emotions by running away or shutting them out. Of course, eventually, it will come back and bite her in the ass, but at that point she WILL have nice people to help her, even if she doesn't want it.

This is just heartbreaking. Both trying to keep up at least a little cheer, while you can see on their faces that beneath the smiles and friendly barbs they are both very aware that this is probably goodbye forever...
Poor K. Seeing Pintail leave for this reason will earn her a whole bunch of sleepless nights.

No reason to feel bad. K will return the favor and try not to think of Pintail too much. She kinda operates under the assumption that, even if Pin survives and comes back, she probably won't live to see it. It's a dangerous world, after all...

...to be honest, I'm not entirely sure how Kachka's life will turn out. I'm actually tempted to let her have a satisfying resolution of her little mother-issue. But beyond that... I'm not sure she'd know what to do with old age. She never expected to live to see it

I actually fully understand that - besides, it's not like anything needs to be settled in stone.
I would love to see you give her some peace with her mother though, and even IF you give Kachka a some what satisfying ending in the AU, I do NOT hope you have any intention on letting her suffer in the 'canon'-story.
Either way, I don't think it's necessary for you to define any near or late future, and I'd rather not know if you have anything horrible in mind
