Description
This is the final helmet for the Pilot cosplay from Romantically Apocalyptic! It a quick two month to seek and get the required pieces, it has totally worth the money and time!The full cosplay will be premiered at Montreal Otakuthon 2012 on Saturday. Along with my friend who's supposed to do Ze beloved Captain.

This.. is.. just.. absolutely THE BEST RA pilot helmet/mask, what I have seen! You have done so.. so great work.. I hope there would be more photos of your costume *3* .... gah, I'm just drooling here... You just look like RA pilot!

So you found gas mask from ebay..? Is there any chance, that it is this one? -> [link] (and if it is that) ... you're still alive? 8'D Havent got any asbestos poisoning..? (I really hope not... and now after asking that, I feel little.. stupid. But I just today talked with my friend of gas mask and asbestos in those old mask, so.. but I have no idea is it also include pilot masks.... AARH! Sorry! I will stop this now! I'm really making idiot of myself here ^^')
Krhm.. so yeah. Btw have you painted that green color on those goggles? O_o (and those also look.. so gooood!<3) But that skullcap.. You managed to find black? Was it expensive..? (O_<)'
Hyrrrr... I can only imagine the amount of money which has gone into that costume TwT .... but still will understand to be worth it ;D (Damn, especially when the result looks so good, ARGH<3)

It this the same mask! Pilot has a KM-32 set on his hat. Yes, I am still alive and as far as I know, I did not get poisoned by Asbestos or anything. I don't know if it's just because I got lucky or there isn't any...
Yes! I did painted my lenses green! But it was just really visible with direct light on it, like in this picture. This is probably the best way to go since they normally ship the goggles with both clear and dark lenses.
For the skullcap... Well I think that the whole KM-32 set is made in black or the soviet used to have black caps... I don't really know sorry. D:

Hmm.. yeah, that skullcap. On ebay I found those black ones, but those were SO expensive >__>
So now I'm thinking if I buy brow one.. could I paint that black... uh I just hope so ^^'

What type of Gas mask is that? All I can find somewhat similar is a Russian KM-30 Oxy Mask... is that what you used by any chance?

Pilot has a Russian KM-32 pilot mask, as quoted on the RA wiki.
I found my gasmask and goggles on Ebay and the skullcap on a soviet surplus website.

One more question if you don't mind Oh great Pilot... what is the black material thats covering the exposed areas of the face? I'm thinking about getting a balaclava or something to cover it, but it might be too much...
