Description
Overall good values! Just need to simplify and group them more. Also, spend more time designing the bigger massesof the features. There's no treatment for the ball of the mouth so the mouth is flat. The eyes feel like cut outs because
they don't have proper sockets.
Make sure all your shapes and planes are clear. There's a difference visually from a soft shape and a fuzzy shape. There's
a lot of unnecessary details and artifacts in the original painting.

I'm finding these... hmm... art tutorings? you are doing very entertaining and inspiring. I've been a lineart (comic books) person for many years and only started trying to paint since a couple of years ago. I still struggle a lot with tones and lighting. I'm getting a little better, but still takes me forever to get a half decent piece done. I'm basically shy at working with masses and color. With practice I start being bolder, but I'm still half the way or less to where I need to be. In any case, even when I knew pretty much everything you do in these revisions, seeing how you apply them for real is helpful and inspiring.
So, thank you for these and keep them coming

Aside from the technical corrections, would some of these changes be considered more stylistic in nature?

Yes and no. Even if you're doing sight drawing, which is another discipline that
should be practiced, the base rules still apply. The notes I have posted on this
are all basics. I haven't critiqued it from a design point of view.
Yes in terms of stylizing because we're always stylizing whether we are conscious
of it or not. Even literal copies are not literal copies. I dunno if that makes sense

Thanks for clarifying. You've hit the nail on the head; at least as far as I can understand and I find what you've said agreeable.
There is a bit of the metaphysical mixed into this discussion; that's for sure.
Thanks again and have a great one!
