Description
KOS MOS AZURE armor. This variation is intended for use in my fanfic. This is just a prototype idea, though.This optional armor is designed to augment KOS MOS' long range (beam and missile) weapons.

Well... using KOS MOS AZURE as an example...
Pencil, then ink... About 45 min on something this detailed.
Scan, file format, and sizing/cropping- 5 min.
Black line cleanup and fixes- 10 min.
First color (click-and-fill) 20 min.
Second color (cell-style shading) 15 min.
Additional shading- 5 min.
Background/foreground layers- about 10 min.
lighting effects- 5 min.
final touchup/save/reformat/flatten/resave - 5 min.
All told... about 2 hours... I tried to break it down into stages. The amount of detail, as well as foreground/background elements and effects can add a lot of time to the drawing. Also, I sometimes experiment with different tools and filters to see what kind of effects I come up with. If I like, I keep, if not ... Deleted!

It takes time, but the more ya practice, the faster it gets. I think I've got nearly 500 pages of comic art posted on this site... That's about 1/3rd of the total comic pages I've drawn.

All i can do is squeeze art in when i have the chance... If it wasn't for "real life" getting in my way... I could crank about 4 pages a day of finished comic book art.
(Mebbe if I win a 300 million$$$ lottery, I'll have all the time I need to draw.)

Thanks much! I think she's one of the better characters to come along... I dunno why...I mean, there are dozens of new shows and games every year, and hundreds of good characters.
For some reason, a very few of them spark my interest. KOS MOS is one of them. She's a good character from a good story... And such a tragic ending...
I guess that's why I did the fanfic... To bring her back even if her actual creators/copyright holders have chosen not to.
I want to do a good job with this story. I want to do a decent job of bringing her back, not just a bunch of sketchy scribbles. The downside is that takes a lot longer to do the artwork, but I hope the effort is appreciated.

your style is unique and it gives your fanfic a different flavor but you keep true to KOS-MOS's nature
and not just that, you even make new forms for her that look believable
