Welcome! I see you have stumbled upon the land of the Affectus, where we wild creatures roam. Affectus are the guardians of emotion, the keepers of love, misery, hope, and greed. They protect the feelings of humans and other creatures worldwide, but their temples and territories are located here, in Sibia, where they wander freely, breeding, sleeping, eating, and most importantly, guarding the emotions in the bottles they carry around their necks. You are free to become one of us and wander with your fellows. But don't take this position lightly, lonely traveller—if you fail to protect the emotion in your bottle, you will die along with it, and so will the human or other creatures who it belongs to. So be careful, traveler, and guard your possessions with the greatest of wariness. Here in the wild lands, you can trust no-one.

Here's some information about the various locations:
SIBIANKUR FOREST
This forest is where many of the Affectus tribes live. It is a lush place of greenery, a wild wonderland for Affectus cubs to leap and play in. Streams snake through the bushes and intertwining trees; the grass is soft, and the leaves of every tree shimmer in countless colours when the sunlight hits them. Here, every animal lives in harmony— he fish swim undisturbed in glimmering rivers, and deer, rabbits, and wolves alike can feel safe in the Affectus's company. The Affectus make their homes under green canopies by weaving twigs together to make round dens, in which they make up soft moss and leaf beds in which they spend the night, gathering feathers and soft fur to pad their beds. This can also be used for insulation to protect them from the cold nights of winter. Some Affectus, usually the leaders (called Kallei) use stone blocks from Akali city to create small but grand temples for the use of them and their loyal subjects.
AKALI CITY
Akali city is a place of ruined walls and crumbling stone buildings. Some Affectus say that humans used to live here, before the Other came to Sykir Mountains and terrorised their cities. Now it lies abandoned apart from times when Kallei order groups of Affectus to bring blocks of stone from the city to build their temples of worship. Some Affectus are rumoured to live there still, finding out more about humans and reading the ancient texts about the origin of emotions that are, possibly, still stored somewhere in the depths of the city…
RAED ISLAND
Pronounced "Reed Island", this is a lonely isle sacred to all Affectus. Some say that the first Affectus were born here from the emotions of humans, when their feelings got so wild they had to escape to a place far away from their owners. Once every seven years, when the moon turns red and the sun rises late, every young Affectus journeys here to pay their respects to their ancestors. The sacred ritual is a must for every Affectus coming of age, and apart from the aforementioned trip to the island, Read Island remains mostly undisturbed. Rumours, some far from pleasant, have been spread about the peaceful island, and no Affectus is inclined to stay there for longer than is necessary.
LAKE OF BITTER TEARS
This lake is a lonely place where only those who are dying ever venture. The last day of an Affectus is the most important time of their life, and so, when they feel it is their time, this is where every Affectus on the brink of Passing must wander. No living soul knows what happens after the dying step into the salty water. But it is said that after their soul breaks free from their body with the help of the muddy-looking lake, it is the tears of the dead that pour into the lake to replenish its stores of salty water.
SINHAI LAKE
Sinhai lake, by contrast, is a sunny, hopeful place with sparkling blue water. A common site for Affectus families to stay if their homes grow too cold or they're looking for a location where they can get away from everyday life for a while. Always the picture of beauty, Affectus families staying here are graced with excellent weather, warm breezes, cool fresh water and brilliant sunsets. It's well worth the journey, although the trip itself may take more than three days.
But this place, as with all Sibian lakes, has its fair share of unsettling rumours. Some say that this used to be the home of an evil dark spirit who lured animals near with her silky voice and then drowned them in Sinhai's alluringly beautiful waters. The spirit continued to do this for hundreds of years before an Affectus, furious that the spirit had drowned his whole family, took it into his head to set this right. Firstly, he bribed another spirit to lure the evil one toward a deep dark waterhole hidden in the depths of the lake. The evil spirit, whose name was Sinhai, was enraptured by her own foul magic. She followed the other spirit to the waterhole, fell in with a gurgling splash, and was sucked down into the deep before she could even realised the mistake she had made. Her last words were a curse set upon the lake, that no Affectus has been able to decipher since the day Sinhai drowned. Now the lake is named after the evil witch, warning any Affectus that ventures here that everything may not be as it seems.
TREE OF EMOTION
The Tree of Emotion, the place where emotions grow on the trees like bright leaves, and the birthplace of every Affectus who ever lived, is a place possibly more sacred that Raed Island. The Shamans of the Affectus tribes live here, one for each tribe, to welcome the newborns and guide them to their fellows. Every Affectus is born here in the spring season; each time a leaf falls and settles on the bright green grass, a seedpod grows from the ground. In this seedpod lives a young Affectus, nothing more than a tiny embryo. But as the Affectus inside grows, so does the seedpod, until at last it splits apart and a young Affectus emerges. These young ones are already quite developed, capable of walking and even maybe able to utter a few short words like "food" and "grass". Until they are old enough to journey to their tribes, the Shamans take care of them, teaching them everything about emotions, legends, and everyday skills. Then they tell the young Affectus the way to their individual tribes and they journey there along with the other young ones of their tribe. This journey teaches them how to find food and water, along with the valuable skills of teamwork and friendship.
SYKIR MOUNTAINS
The Sykir Mountains, dark, snow-tipped and forbidding, is the place where all the spooky rumours of the Affectus tribes stem from. The Other are said to live here, dark, slender creatures as quick as smoke and darker than a shadow. They roam the Mountains looking for wolves and other animals to prey on. These animals are said to have been the cause for the War of Dark Words, which began more than three thousand years ago when the Other dared to venture down from the crags and mountain peaks to feast on the humans living in Akali City. The Affectus, who only came into life after the humans had left the city, drove them away using the strength of emotion along with the Shamans' magical powers. The Other were beaten back into the Mountains and imprisoned there by spells, forced to live by themselves and only able to watch the lush forest grow and die through invisible walls of magic. Now, no Affectus ever wander there, and every young one is told that the Sykir Mountains will bring only terror and grief.
Anyway, yeah! That's the short (not XD) description of all the places in this map! Now you have a better idea of where Affectus live, feel free to create your own and role-play with them or draw them wandering through the wildlands of Sibia…Below is some more information on how to get your Affectus to a certain rank in the Affectus hierarchy!
How to gain XP (experience points)
--Headshot sketch: +1 XP
--Fullbody sketch: +5 XP
--Flatcolour headshot: +7 XP
--Flatcolour fullbody: +9 XP
--Shaded headshot: +7 XP
--Shaded fullbody: +12 XP
--Shaman (requires +10 XP)
To get your Affectus to Shaman level, if there is not a spot already open, you will have to challenge the person who already owns the Shaman spot you want. To do this, you will both have to get to 10 XP as soon as possible by drawing, animating, or RPing with your Affectus. The person who reaches 10 XP the soonest will claim the Shaman spot for their own.

Advisor to the Kallei (requires +26 XP)
Advisors, or assistants, help Kallei with making decisions concerning their Tribes. They are also responsible of sharing out provisions when food is running low. This is a very high ranking, second only to the position of Tribe Kallei. The same rules as the Shaman slots applies to Advisor slots.

Tribe Kallei (requires +40 XP)
Kallei slots are much harder to get than Shaman or Advisor slots. Different rules apply to those who wish for their Affectus to become a Kallei. You cannot challenge another Affectus owner for a Kallei slot. Instead, if you claim a Kallei slot, no-one can challenge you for it once your Tribe Kallei Affectus has been approved. Instead, the owner of the Kallei must be a good owner of their Affectus. If they go two months without drawing their Kallei Affectus, the slot will be opened up again, ready for more Kallei submissions.

HOW TO APPLY FOR A SLOT:
To apply for a slot—Shaman, Advisor, Kallei—you must draw your already-made Affectus doing one of the jobs of those rankings. More information is below.
TO APPLY FOR A SHAMAN SLOT:
--Draw or animate your Affectus teaching one of the young Affectus which plants are edible and which ones are poisonous, mixing a potion, writing a magic spell or otherwise interacting with their ‘pupils’
TO APPLY FOR AN ADVISOR SLOT:
--Draw or animate your Affectus watching builders construct temples, talking to the Kallei, or assisting other Affectus with various tasks such as food collecting, den-making, and other jobs.
TO APPLY FOR A KALLEI SLOT:
--Draw or animate your Affectus fighting off predators, talking to their Advisor, or commanding other Affectus.
NOTE: When applying, you cannot just do a quick sketch or a lazy drawing with messy colouring/shading/etc. I expect you to actually put some effort into this—if you do not, your application will be refused and you’ll have to try again. You can also reserve a slot if you think your application will take a while, but you can only reserve it for two weeks max. I understand if you’re busy, but I need to give others a chance too!
