During this time at the height of Greenleaf Cedarclan holds a Shell Event for their clan members. This event celebrates the strength of the clan and focuses on creating and strengthening bonds between the cats. The cats are to collect shells with one another and create gifts for others. During the day the Cedarclan cats collect shells that they can find, craft gifts, and share tongues as the sun falls behind the mountains. As early as they could they have all departed from the camp and had made their way to the beach to begin.

The sun was at its peak, a lot of time having passed from countless of fun. Stormkit had been gathering shells earlier with Redkit who had got him to become more excited for the event. Now soaked from his swim he hopped along the shallow water and spotted a white ash tabby she-kit alone. There were several kits he had yet to officially introduce himself to and could not bother to by shy with all of his excitement.
Stormkit approached the she-kit noisily pounding his paws against the wet sand and waving his tail wildly in the air. "Hello! My name is Stormkit, what's your name?" She had soft turquoise eyes that matched perfectly with the ocean.

As exciting as separating from the camp had seemed,doekit didn't like it as much as she expected herself too,her gaze was worried whenever she settled it on the outstretched ocean,she wondered how far this was..she had also expected to be walking around with Maplekit and her brother,but her best friend ran off somewhere so she was left alone,When the voice spoke up,she twisted her head and pulled on a smiley face,which quite suited her appearance,her eyes widened upon seeing stormkit,his eyes..they were beautiful . considering she never saw this kit before,which was quite surprising for herself too,the shyness she felt before shrunk down until she was able to give out a word. "Hey, I'm Doekit .." she tilted her head,constantly watching his different-coloured eyes "M-may I just say..you have really beautiful eyes" She smiled wobbly, a tint of red spreading across her cheeks at her first ever given compliment,doekit felt quite embarrassed

The unexpected compliment made Stormkit's pelt feel hot especially as she gazed into his eyes. For a moment he was at loss for words and his eyes wide, but then regained enough confidence to compliment her back and with a smile. "You're eyes are beautiful too. They look like the ocean and sparkle just like it." He had never complimented anyone before aloud, but Doekit's kindness had gotten the better of him. The little tom had only met her, yet he could see how gentle and kind she is.

Suddenly he remembered what he came to ask her and shuffled his paws nervously, "Hey, Doekit, if you don't have anyone to collect shells with then I can be your partner. You looked lonely so I wanted to make you feel not so lonely..." his voice trailed off. He watched her nervously for her reaction to his offer, too embarrassed to even gulp. Stormkit was not certain how she would reply. He was not exactly popular within the clan which made him feel a little self-conscious about his offer to be her partner.

almost grin,She hid all this with a chuckle when she saw how nervous the fellow
kit seemed. she shuffled her paws a little when he asked her about the shell picking,she hadn't managed to find any nice ones as the others picked them out first "Yeah i'd love too!" she quickly nodded,She did feel quite lonely,and she was a little embarrassed about it,but now there weren't any need!

A grin formed on his face upon hearing that she would love to have him as her partner. "Great, come on! Let's try this way. I haven't seen cats over there yet!" He pointed to the opposite side of the crowd with his tiny nose. The trail of shells spread all along the beach and seemed to be promising with how thick it appeared to be. Together they made their way to their destination and stopped to search for any appealing shells.

While searching for beautiful shells he couldn't help, but to think of how much Doekit reminded him of the beach except a little more pale. He decided that he would try to make her an accessory to decorate her with shells just like the sand. Upon shuffling through the pile of shells he came across a dried out red-orange starfish and placed it on a flat rock close by to mark the beginning of his pile. He wasn't sure if their piles had to be separate or joined, but he decided to have his own that way he wouldn't take any from her pile and if she needed anything from his then he would be happy to share.

Her smile re winded on her cheeks as she glanced to stormkit

A necklace? He waited a moment to let her continue before he spoke and continued shifting through the shells finally picking up another that caught his eye. When Doekit had mentioned that the necklace could be their sign of friendship he dropped the shell, speechless, and looked back at her. Friendship? He had finally found his voice and replied nodding his head, "Okay! But I won't tell you what yours is yet. You'll have to wait and see until I'm done." Truthfully he could not decide what it was that he had wanted to make for her. He would have to figure something out soon. He quickly gathered as many pretty shells as he could find and scurried off towards his rock with his tail in the air.

He climbed onto the rock and sat with his back facing Doekit and turned to mumble something to her, "No peeking..." His pile was rather big and he knew that he was not going to use them all, but the more he had the more choices. Once he had some ideas he gathered some vines that grew nearby to use to hold the shells together.

Doekit giggled and did the exact same,nudged a pile of random shells into a pile away from Stormkit so he couldn't even peek,she grabbed anything she could hold them together with,leaves,vines,long straws of grass..anything! she wrapped her front paws around the pile and picked out the most beautiful colours she could find and that she thought would match her new friend .her tail wiggling excitedly like a bunny..she hoped stormkit would like her little idea..

His gifts had taken him longer than he had anticipated. Originally he wanted to create one piece for Doekit, but ended up crafting two for he could not decide which he liked best. Once he was finished he picked up his gifts, one gently in his mouth and the other hanging on his tail in an attempt to keep it hidden as a surprise, he padded over to Doekit at a safe distance until she was ready. He placed his first creation, a bracelet, on the sandy floor and mewed to Doekit. "I'm done with your gift, sorry for the wait!"

The bracelet was made up of a small calico scallop in the center with a bruised nassa on both sides and nutmet shells covering the rest of the bracelet. He loved how the calico shell had two beautiful colors that will pop among her white paws. His intention was to bring more color to her and somehow bring out her turquoise eyes.

Doekit turned around,leaving behind her gift as she was quite done and proud with it,but when her wide eyes set down upon her gift,she let out a gasp,her pupils scanned every curve and every difference upon her bracelet,She grinned widely and even giggled excitedly "I-its so pretty! oh my gosh its soooo pretty!.. the shells are so beautiful,you've got a talent!" doekit couldn't explain how happy she was and how proud She was of stormkit "M...mine is probably nothing compared to yours,but I hope you like it" she looked over her shoulder and leaned down,gently placing her front teeth on the vine and dragging it in front of stormkit, the necklace started off with a beautiful purple turretella stuck in the middle of the vine which was tied at the end so it hung onto his neck nice and loosely,she was lucky to find one of those as it was the main attraction to her necklace,in sync by each side of that Seashell were a pair of apple blossom's making their way up the necklace until another shell at each side was tied to the vine,orange lions pow singles ,She wanted to add those as they were orange,a beautiful orange just like Stormkit's one orange eye,which she was pretty fascinated about,the necklace was ended with Imperial Venus,one at each side,she matched this one and a orange lion pow singles together so it represented his eyes in a way,the ending was at the very back,tied tightly together so it was sure nothing would fall apart,she smiled shyly up at him at her efforts

Stormkit blushed at her compliment of the bracelet he had made for her. He did not think it was as great as it sounded, but he was glad that she really liked it. "I didn't quite know what shells to use, but I'm glad you like it." Before he could give it to her Doekit reached behind her to pick up a necklace she had made for him like she had said she would. His eyes grew wide seeing the pretty colors. The center piece really caught his eye and he smiled happily. "Wow, it looks great! I don't think I have nearly as much talent as you. The colors go so well together!" He fought to keep his tail from wriggling and padded up to her with her bracelet. "Let me help you with this."

Gently he held her left paw in his paws and brought the end of the vines together to tie it in a knot. It was loose enough for her to slide off and on, but tight enough that it would not fall off. For now he would wait to give her the second piece until later as a surprise.

When Doekit walked behind him to tie his necklace he wrapped his tail over his paws to keep his second gift hidden and quickly buried it within the sand without it being noticed. He placed nearby dried seaweed and bunch of lame rocks over it to mark where it was. Once the necklace was on he placed a paw on it and turned to Doekit. "Thank you, Doekit! I'll treasure this necklace from now on." It felt strange at first to wear something on him, but it was not something that would bother him enough to make him want to take it off. He liked the jingling sound that the shells made and wondered what all of the other kits made for each other.

He did not know what he wanted to do now that they had finished and soon the sun would be starting to set. A simple idea came to mind and decided to ask his new friend of it, "Hey Doekit, do you wanna walk down with me a little further before the sun sets? I wonder what we'll find out here." After seeing that the beach had beautiful shells he could not help, but to wonder what else could be found on the beach. This could possibly be their only chance for a long time to explore without getting into trouble or at least too much trouble.

"Good idea!" Stormkit chirped. Together they walked farther down the shore seeing less shells than before and now could spot small holes within the sand. A little body poked out from one of the many holes and had quickly gone back into hiding. Several smaller crabs decorated the beach and skittered in all directions. Stormkit's tail flailed in the air, "Look at them all!" He let out a grunt as he pounced onto a small crab, but when he lifted his forepaws it had seemed to have gotten away. They were really quick for something so tiny and so he continued pouncing on the holes when movement caught his eye.

with her tail raised in the air and her paws thrown onto each other,only to find she hasn't even caught none of the tiny crabs which seemed to zoom around everywhere,She chuckled as she watched a crab in distance and slowly stalked it "This one is ..reddy colour!" she called with a gasp,she liked crabs,doekit thought they were little adorable things,but weird looking?

Stormkit followed beside Doekit to get a better look at the red crab. It stood still as if it were watching them and Stormkit decided to circle to the other side of the tiny crab. He did not see a hole nearby so he guessed that the crab may have wandered a little too far. The dark kit lowered his body to the ground as much as he could wishing he could somehow blend in with the sand. Doekit had been the one to spot the crab and knew better than to catch it unless she would not do it herself. He waited patiently on the opposite side for Doekit to be ready if he was able to chase it towards her. "I'll chase it to you if you want."

Doekit stood up fully and perked her ears "we could dig it a hole somewhere safe and guide it there!" she smiled brightly at her suggestion, and glanced up with her wide ocean eyes at her friends reaction,her tail swishing though she did keep an eye on the little crab so he didn't wander of somewhere

For a moment Stormkit thought he had misheard what Doekit suggested. Dig it a hole? He felt a little disappointed, but if that was what Doekit would like then he wouldn't argue. An idea had just flashed in his mind. It could be difficult to steer the crab in the direction they wanted, but if he caught it then he could just pick it up and place it in the hole. He looked over to Doekit, "I'll keep an eye on it while you dig the hole. Call me over if you need an extra set of paws."
He figured that she could do it on her own, but comparing the consistency between sand and dirt the sand would be the most difficult to crate a successful hole since the walls would only fall if not done carefully. But then again it's not like they had to dig deep. They only had to place the crab in it and it would dig its own tunnel.

Doekit smiled and nodded,and off she went,her claws unsheathed as she was ready to build a hole,though the walls did indeed seem to be crumling down..she hummed as she began digging deeper,and deeper,until she reached the more wet sand,which she build up at the barriers,and then let the dry sand slide in,but it didn't fall anymore,her head turned to look at stormkit and grinned "I'm done! you think you could bring him over? she giggled.

To Stormkit's surprise she dug rather deep and it was probably a good idea. When she asked him to bring the crab over he crouched and aimed for the crab leaping as quickly as he could just as it moved. His paws landed on the crab, but he was careful enough not to injure it if he could help it. Feeling its hard shell on his soft pads he peeked to make sure he had caught it. His catch was a success and he carefully he lifted it off the sand between his teeth as to not crush it or let it fall while making his way over to his new hole.

He lowered the crab and placed it on the edge of the hole letting the small creature surf right in on the sand. "There, that should do it." Stormkit looked up at the sky and noticed that it was beginning to get dark. They had been out for a while now longer than he had realized. "Maybe we should head back now before we forget and get left behind." He shook the sand off of his messy pelt and waited for Doekit before leading the way back towards the others.

Stormkit smiled and shrugged, "Thank you for having me." Together they padded side by side along the rest of the way until they had reached the spot where they crafted their gifts. Stormkit cleared off the flat rock of his shells and placed some bedding before hopping on top. "Let's watch the sun set behind Highstones!" The Cedarclan cats were beginning to gather to watch the sun set behind the mountains in the distance, some already sharing tongues with one another. He made sure that the rock was comfortable enough for the both of them as he preferred to sit on the rock than the sand.

He looked into Doekit's eyes as she looked into his and before he replied he reached over from behind the rock and pulled something out of the sand. It was the second gift he had crafted having been unable to decide what to make and looked similar to a bracelet. The center piece was an orange starfish and nutmegs covered the rest of the vine. He pulled into view for Doekit to see and placed it carefully surrounded her left ear with it. "I couldn't decide what to make so I made you two gifts, I hope you don't mind." he admitted. "I think you look pretty." He smiled at the thought of having made a new friend. Maybe having friends isn't so bad.

After seeing that the beach had beautiful shells he could not help, but to wonder what else could be found on the beach. This could possibly be their only chance for a long time to explore without getting into trouble or at least too much trouble.

"Good idea!" Stormkit chirped. Together they walked farther down the shore seeing less shells than before and now could spot small holes within the sand. A little body poked out from one of the many holes and had quickly gone back into hiding. Several smaller crabs decorated the beach and skittered in all directions. Stormkit's tail flailed in the air, "Look at them all!" He let out a grunt as he pounced onto a small crab, but when he lifted his forepaws it had seemed to have gotten away. They were really quick for something so tiny and so he continued pouncing on the holes when movement caught his eye.

Doekit chuckled at him,and decided to join in the playful event,hopping onto the holes
with her tail raised in the air and her paws thrown onto each other,only to find she hasn't even caught none of the tiny crabs which seemed to zoom around everywhere,She chuckled as she watched a crab in distance and slowly stalked it "This one is ..reddy colour!" she called with a gasp,she liked crabs,doekit thought they were little adorable things,but weird looking?

Stormkit followed beside Doekit to get a better look at the red crab. It stood still as if it were watching them and Stormkit decided to circle to the other side of the tiny crab. He did not see a hole nearby so he guessed that the crab may have wandered a little too far. The dark kit lowered his body to the ground as much as he could wishing he could somehow blend in with the sand. Doekit had been the one to spot the crab and knew better than to catch it unless she would not do it herself. He waited patiently on the opposite side for Doekit to be ready if he was able to chase it towards her. "I'll chase it to you if you want."

Doekit stood up fully and perked her ears "we could dig it a hole somewhere safe and guide it there!" she smiled brightly at her suggestion, and glanced up with her wide ocean eyes at her friends reaction,her tail swishing though she did keep an eye on the little crab so he didn't wander of somewhere

For a moment Stormkit thought he had misheard what Doekit suggested. Dig it a hole? He felt a little disappointed, but if that was what Doekit would like then he wouldn't argue. An idea had just flashed in his mind. It could be difficult to steer the crab in the direction they wanted, but if he caught it then he could just pick it up and place it in the hole. He looked over to Doekit, "I'll keep an eye on it while you dig the hole. Call me over if you need an extra set of paws."
He figured that she could do it on her own, but comparing the consistency between sand and dirt the sand would be the most difficult to crate a successful hole since the walls would only fall if not done carefully. But then again it's not like they had to dig deep. They only had to place the crab in it and it would dig its own tunnel.

Doekit smiled and nodded,and off she went,her claws unsheathed as she was ready to build a hole,though the walls did indeed seem to be crumling down..she hummed as she began digging deeper,and deeper,until she reached the more wet sand,which she build up at the barriers,and then let the dry sand slide in,but it didn't fall anymore,her head turned to look at stormkit and grinned "I'm done! you think you could bring him over? she giggled.

To Stormkit's surprise she dug rather deep and it was probably a good idea. When she asked him to bring the crab over he crouched and aimed for the crab leaping as quickly as he could just as it moved. His paws landed on the crab, but he was careful enough not to injure it if he could help it. Feeling its hard shell on his soft pads he peeked to make sure he had caught it. His catch was a success and he carefully he lifted it off the sand between his teeth as to not crush it or let it fall while making his way over to his new hole.

He lowered the crab and placed it on the edge of the hole letting the small creature surf right in on the sand. "There, that should do it." Stormkit looked up at the sky and noticed that it was beginning to get dark. They had been out for a while now longer than he had realized. "Maybe we should head back now before we forget and get left behind." He shook the sand off of his messy pelt and waited for Doekit before leading the way back towards the others.

Doekit smiled ,satisfied with their work,and also she noticed it was indeed getting dark,she shook her pelt quickly before looking up at stormkit with a happy expression "that's a good idea" the tabby chuckled,as she bounced over to stormkit's side and walked by him towards the camp "Thank you for today stormkit" she purred,a grin spreading across her cheeks

Stormkit smiled and shrugged, "Thank you for having me." Together they padded side by side along the rest of the way until they had reached the spot where they crafted their gifts. Stormkit cleared off the flat rock of his shells and placed some bedding before hopping on top. "Let's watch the sun set behind Highstones!" The Cedarclan cats were beginning to gather to watch the sun set behind the mountains in the distance, some already sharing tongues with one another. He made sure that the rock was comfortable enough for the both of them as he preferred to sit on the rock than the sand.

Doekit shrugged her shoulders with a friendly smile,her paws moved to hop onto the warm rock besides her friend,sitting down with a gentle sign "It was a really eventful day..we must do it again" she turned to look at him,her eyes wide with a big smile.another day and another friend has been made.

He looked into Doekit's eyes as she looked into his and before he replied he reached over from behind the rock and pulled something out of the sand. It was the second gift he had crafted having been unable to decide what to make and looked similar to a bracelet. The center piece was an orange starfish and nutmegs covered the rest of the vine. He pulled into view for Doekit to see and placed it carefully surrounded her left ear with it. "I couldn't decide what to make so I made you two gifts, I hope you don't mind." he admitted. "I think you look pretty." He smiled at the thought of having made a new friend. Maybe having friends isn't so bad.

I-I feel bad not making you another one..its so pretty..the colours are pretty.. she purred,Trotting over and nuzzling her cheek against stormkits "Thank you thank you thank you!" she purred and laid down besides him "your a good friend.."
