Description Days turned into weeks. Weeks turned into months. As Rue's other 4 pups began to grow stronger, the only one who had remained weak was the runt. Rue feared he wouldn't make it whether  Ash was involved or not. He hadn't even been given a proper name yet, he was just called "runt". As much as Rue loved the tiny thing, she knew that Ash hated him. And there was no arguing with the alpha wolf. But soon enough the other pups started to eat meat, and one faithful evening Runt did too. Ash had been there at the time, he'd seen the look of horror on Rue's face as he took his first bite. That look soon turned into one of desperation, her pleading eyes winning half the battle against his anger. He growled and ran off into the depths of the forest. Leaving Rue terrified yet relieved at the same time. It wasn't until 2 days later, in the early  hours of the morning that Ash decided to get rid of the runt for good.

"Flint, hazel" whispered Ash into a small cave. To wolves lay asleep. One was dark grey with the odd patch of white around his chest. The other was light brown with darker freckles around her muzzle. "Wha-" moaned flint, his vision coming into focus. "Oh alpha!" He yelped, waking up hazel. "My warmest welcome" he said, bowing before him. "No time for that" said ash. "Listen, I'm gonna get rid of that runt, and you guys are my best hunters, surely there must be a good place to leave him, where Rue won't find him". "Well there is a rather large clearing on the other side of the island about half an hours walk away" piped up hazel. "There's a lake there where lots of deer come to drink, so naturally predators come". "And by predators you mean...?" Asked ash. "Oh..well you know" said flint. "Bears, other wolves, and...". He stopped for a moment to look at hazel. "Dragons".

10 minutes later Ash, Hazel and Flint where standing just outside the alphas den. Rue was sleeping soundly, along with her five pups who were crowed around her. All except one, who was tucked underneath her chin. Runt. Carefully as possible Ash and Hazel slipped the pup away from her. He woke up for only one second before falling asleep again. Ash looked down at rue for one moment and sighed. "I'm sorry my love". And with that the four of them were gone into trees.

Hazel had volunteered to hold the pup for the walk to the clearing. He was still asleep, and so unaware of how his life was about to change. Like him most of the forest was still asleep, with the occasional hoot of an owl. Yet Ash was worried that one other predator may have been lurking around at that ungodly hour. "So..." He said to flint, trying to make conversation. "Have you ever seen a dragon?". "Once" said flint. "We got rather close to this blue one, with tons of spikes on its tail". Ash looked intrigued, wanting to hear more. "I never really got to see more then that" said flint. "Me and my hunting team got out of there in a flash". "Are they active at night?" Asked Ash suspiciously. "I don't know" said flint. "B-but there would be very few dragons around this area". "They tend to stick to fish diets, so they hang around the coast". Ash gave a sigh of relief. "Guys, we're here" mumbled hazel. Ash turned around and stepped into a large clearing.

The clearing was so open, so much more vast then ash had imagined. He looked down at the tiny puppy. Asleep, hanging from hazels mouth. "You- y know you don't have to do this" said flint. Ash looked at him angrily. Hazel put the pup gently on the ground. "Flint is right" she said. "I know it's tradition to only have the strongest wolves in a pack" she said. "But you can break that tradition". Ash looked down at runt for a long moment. The tiny, helpless runt. "No" he said, shaking his head and snapping out of it. He picked up runt, and walked to the edge of the clearing, placing him against a small rock. The area was more secluded, but barely safer. "Come on" growled Ash. All flint and Hazel could do was look back at runt, as for the second time that morning they left into the forest.

When the little pup woke up later at dawn. He was dazzled by his new surroundings. The sounds of the dawn chorus filled the morning air. He looked around waiting to see his mother and his siblings. But what he saw was endless forest. He was alone.

Okay guys, sorry for the crappy picture I drew last time . I hope this one is better. Also, did somebody say dragons?
