RWBY vs Power Rangers Jungle Fury

- Both are young aged, good natured and naïve novice warriors associated with the colour red, both attended an academy dedicated to stopping a specific evil threat (Ruby attended Beacon Academy to train to fight Salem and the creatures of the Grimm and Casey attended the Pai Zhua academy to train to become one of the three guardians to guard Dai Shi’s prison), who they joined earlier than expected because of potential their head teacher (Professor Ozpin and Master Mao) saw in them (Ozpin allowing Ruby to join Beacon Academy two years earlier because of stopping a robbery and Master Mao allowing Casey to become on of the three guardians early because he displayed his good nature and stood up for a fellow student bullied by Jarrod, who would have been one of the three guardians), much to the dismay of some of their fellow students and eventual teammates.

- Eventually, their academies were destroyed and their initial teacher figures were seemingly dead because of their series' main antagonists, so they later sought elsewhere in order to fight the threat that their academies were dedicated to fight.

- Both have a mentor figure in the form of a older laid back, animal themed warrior who had family struggles and were more experienced and competent than first initialized (Qrow and RJ).

- Both of their more experienced teammates didn’t trust them as the leader because of their early start but later came around when they proved themselves.

- Both have a natural chi based power unique to them (Ruby’s Aura and Semblance and Casey’s Tiger Spirit) with they utilize in battle along with a signature weapon (Ruby’s Scythe and Casey’s Nunchucks and Shark fin swords).

- And both of their characters arcs are them overcoming their doubts and becoming the hero they were destined to be.

- Their last name also sounds similar.
