Description
For a warrior as strong as she was, she was as gentle as a flower when it came to the orphans of the chantry, whether they were human or elf. They sat in a circle around her, their eyes widened at the stories she would tell of brave heroes and pretty princesses. The girls would sigh adoringly when she told the story of a prince falling for the lowly commoner, while the boys would listen intently to the great battles of the Hero of Ferelden against the Blight.

When not telling stories, she would give them toys and play with with, often being invited to join in on the fun, while making sure no one got hurt. No one knew that Sebastian watched whenever she spent time with them. She cares for them like they were her own. He thought, the joy they had with her made him smile, trying to pretend he was focused on his own work.

But it made it that much more heart breaking to watch their saddened faces when she said she had to go. "Don't worry. I'll be back as soon as I can, I promise." She promised them, giving each child a hug before leaving them to the care of one of the sisters. Passing him on the way out, she gave him a smile, her face filled with a motherly glow as she exited the Chantry to head to her estate. He would return the gesture, knowing that she wouldn't break her promise to them, and she would be back the next day.

One day, unfortunately for him, the Grand Cleric had spotted him watching her giving an elven girl a ride on her shoulders, and motioned him to speak privately.

"I see you've grown quite fond of the Champion." She said as soon as they stepped to the upper part of the Chantry where no one would hear, making Sebastian expect another finger-wagging and scolding session. "Your Grace, she's a good woman." He said in his defense, "I respect her for-"

"The Maker gave me eyes, Sebastian." She said, "And they've seen that look in your eyes when you watch her." Strangely enough, a smile came onto her lips, "You're in love, aren't you?" For once, the archer was silent, his stark blue eyes dilating in surprise. Taking the silence as a yes, Elthina spoke again, "You know your vows, Sebastian."

He nodded solemnly, "Aye. I can't take any bride before-"
"You won't break your vows if you marry and start a family with her."

Sebastian was even more surprised. Was Her Grace really suggesting that he...? She gave him another smile and a nod before heading back downstairs. The archer watched her go before looking down, the words sinking into his mind. "Thank you, Your Grace." He said quietly before heading downstairs himself. Whether he reclaimed Starkhaven or not, he would do his best to win her hand.
