Thank you! I just used a basic round brush with adjustments to opacity. I rendered the fur with multiple layers going from large dark strokes as the base going to small light stokes. It's time consuming, but I like the results better than what I have got with special brushes.
To really see the technique done well you should check out the work of Bobby Chiu. He does some amazing work and has a couple courses on schoolism.com that I have found to be really informative.
