But where does that strange magenta cast at the sides of the streams come from? Is it just my monitor?

Warm white balance + blueish/greenish water. But it shouldn't be very strong on your monitor (if it's strong it's your monitor). I could easily get rid of it by reducing the color temperature of the shot, but I liked the warmish feel of it.

Das Wasser wirkt eher wie eine plüschige Wolke, als wie ein tosender Strom. Fast, als wäre das eine fliegende Insel über den Wolken.
