Been having an itch to try and develop my cel style a lot more, so I did this one for my warmup this afternoon.Pencils:

I love your soft blending, but your cell work is really nice as well! Your lighting always adds SO much to each piece. Very simple, very beautiful BG choice.

Yeah, when I look at a lot of the Chun Li fanart here on DA, all I can do is sit back and scratch my head. That's what I dig about Charles's stuff. He can make a heroine sexy without resorting to porn or come hither poses.

O.k. this is awesome!! To me cell shading is more difficult than airbrushing. You have to know color very well, or it can look muddy or too flat. You don't have that problem. Your use of color is fantastic!

Garry, this is gorgeous. ~KidNotorious 's work is killer to begin with and you've complimented it so well. It's so easy to overpower the lineart with cel shades (done it myself far too many times) but your skill just shines here. I love what you've done, it's very animated and warm. Awesome stuff.

Warm palettes are definitely my favorite. There's just something so inviting about reds and oranges and yellows. I can't stop staring at the sky. How on earth did you do that?!

Ummm...I just painted it. Slapped down a yeller sky, and then just started mushin colors together for the clouds. After I get it looking halfway decent, I start doing light gradiants over it. It was a lot duller, but *EraserX suggested I pop the contrast up on it a bit, which helped it out a lot.

Hehe, I need to find more lineart first. Almost every artist I watch is either really sketchy, or uses too much hatching. Not that there's anything wrong with those, but it's a ton of lineart clean up for it to look decent as a cel style. If ~drewerd had more pieces of extemely tight pencils or inked pieces, I'd have a blast

Nice pallete and I like the Bg a lot. It's rendered just enough to not distract from Chun Li but compliment her.
