- The Corner Ribbon -Version 2 to my "Corner Bookmark" [link]
The first version was thrown together rather quickly, so I spent much more time on this newer version.
To start, I used a higher quality source file for my design which a link to can be found in the download. I also have provided a .PSD for simple modding, and colour changing if red isn't your style.
There are several different menubar icons included; Apple logo, heart, ying-yang, stars, editable text, and a power icon. Again, with the included .PSD it is simple to add your own.
On top of that, for those not fully experienced with customisation, there is a really short and simple guide/video on how to add the Corner Ribbon, and how to get the "mnml" traffic lights.
Wallpaper used in all the previews is "Blue Skies" by Fiftyfootshadows @ [link]
It is included in the download.

How did you get the custom icons in the menubar? Is it a theme?

You will find the spotlight icon in there (far right), airport or wifi icon (second from left), and the (first from left) is for sparrow app. [link]
Only system one that isn't in that pack is the battery icon. I took that from elsewhere.

how does this interact with windows? as in, does it appear over windows? or under em? it looks real neat, but if it overlays over windows, might not be practical on my 13 inch monitor

Yeah. That is known as the main issue with these menubar accents. I personally don't have a big screen either, I'm just on a 15" macbook pro. The only issue I've found is if you use full screen windows, it will cover up whatever is underneath. You will still be able to interact with anything behind it. However there is no workaround that I can envisage. Sorry.
