see, viewed from Europe,Β US politicsΒ have always been nothing else than a funny "soap opera", no matter if left (socialist/communist) or right (conservative/patriot) wing europeans, and I can assure you, because of the almost completely (!) different reality of life over here (we just don't have much in common regarding education & socialization & daily life), we (the vast majority of Europeans) traditionally don't care much about what the "(true) american people" think, or vote for, because it usually just doesn't affect us at all 
... but that's btw not meant to be disrespectful, it's just a fact that the reception of satirical posters, like those in my gallery, is a completely different one on the two sides of the atlantic 
will say, the European view on Trump (Bush, Clinton, Reagan, ...) is probably pretty much comparable to your (the US) view on Hitler (Mussolini, Franco, Stalin, ...) = "a caricature of man" Β 
and it's finally nothing else than talking about aliens, or fictional characters, when we (Europeans) comment on US politics, and the reception of your (US) comments on our (European) politics isn't that different ...

Maybe you never noticed but ONE PARTY can't "impeach" anyone. The Democrats haven't allowed any transparency or access to witnesses or evidence either. If the Democrats refuse to present any evidence, witnesses or have an open process, it all falls apart and becomes meaningless bullshit.

Β in a democracy, regarding the judicative, the president elected will be treated like every ordinary citizen, there's no need to defend him (regarding politics), when it's about "breaking laws", there will be an ordinary investigation, and he finally will be judged like everyone else (hopefully) 
you may well criticise that opinnion as "being naive" (and "weak" against the "powerful" oligarchs & dictators), and the system (western democracies) being totally corrupt anyway - yes, especially the Epstein case of 2008 would be a perfekt example for that criticism - but finally, it's pretty much like the global warming issue, like you put it, things change for unknown reasons, up and down, and I'm sure he'll finally won't be punished, not even for his various serious (!) crimes he commited in the last decades (same with Clinton), but at least "the people" became aware of it, and that helps e.g. me & my friends to finally get over it (somehow, at least - do not think "Germans" are totally cynic and "made of stone") Β

Trump hasn't broken any laws, and Impeachment isn't even about breaking a law. It's a political game. This is why the Democrats - and ONLY the Democrats voted for it. They know there is nothing actually wrong with what Trump has done, so it's a game.
The media in the USA tried repeatedly, because they all backed the Democrats, to frame Trump as a friend of Epstein. There's zero evidence to back their bullshit.
