What a beautiful tribute!
There are just so many wow moments in this piece. The shading of the wrinkles on his jacket, the contour shading on his skin, the contrast between the shadows and light cast upon his face--somehow everything transitions so flawlessly?! I used to doubt these kinds of drawings because I thought that blotting out half of someone's face could never emphasize his or her features more, but you've managed to convince me otherwise! The subtle, yet dynamic transitions make for such an effective addition!
