I. Invisible

I liked
sneaking softly, sheltered in the shadow
slinking, concealed, unperceived and safe.

I want to be the panther that never pounces
The angel on your shoulder who guides
weightless and silent

I want you to know the bliss of peace
I would find and catch its golden light
Open your sleeping eyes
And pour it out into your soul

But it is not my place.

I liked sneaking softly, unpercieved and safe
Hidden but not hiding. No reason. No fear. Just
the joy of existing
by myself but not alone
unwatched, unbothered
in my own thoughts
without context.

As a silent shadow
Always just around the corner
beyond sight and sound
I cannot not be pinned down
or labeled
or caught
or even thought of.

I could be anywhere.

II. Tracing Outlines

To outline the sensations
And delineate intricacy,
To trace the intertwining
Of emotions within me-

To detail observations,
To mix with what I see
An objective observer
With greater clarity-

To freeze the touching moments
And move through them unseen,
Savoring the beauty
And good that goes between

Those who search each other's souls
And find comfort within
The warmth of the embrace
Of one that sees in you no sin,

For this I trace these letters
Document what I've found
For this I write you poems
And measure the covered ground.

III. Tensile Strength

Here we are
Lion and lamb
A taste of the sacrifice
A taste of the sand

Where nothing grows
Because nothing bloomed
Under a scorching sun
With raindrops too few.

Here we are
The lamb and the beast
Watching the sky
Eying the feast

Wary of flood
Weary of fear
Circling each other
And always too near.

Here we be
La Belle et La Bete:
Let us pray,
And not eat--
Just yet.
