Description  I CAN"T DRAW A TUTORIAL TO SAVE MY LIFE!

*cough* Here's a simple version of how I usually draw. It's definitely more complicated when I'm drawing detailed backgrounds so this is the best pic to explain my drawing process . I find tutorials very helpful so I wanted to give you guys an idea on how I typically draw . I hope you find this to be helpful and that it gives you guys some good drawing ideas . If not then I'z so sorry, I tried! I really did!
*cries in corner*

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My step by step explanation is on the bottom
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

1) Base: This is my base, or how I like to call it, the "Crazy Phase". This is the foundation of the drawing! In this part, I'm pretty much making rough shapes to get ideas of where I want things to be placed in the picture before I start making my line art. It's always important that you do this cause you don't want to start making pretty line art and then realize half way through the drawing that your anatomy is off. Trust me, I had to learn this out the hard way on many of my old pics. T^T

2.) Rough Sketch: Once I get the general idea of what I want, I lower the opacity on that layer and create a new layer over it to start working on my rough sketch. I try not to be too picky of how messy the line art looks cause this is just a sketch anyway. It's still important though to get the line art as accurate as possible so it's easier to trace over when you're making your clean line art.

3.) Line Art: Now that I got my rough sketch done I go ahead and delete the Base, lower the opacity on the Rough Sketch, and create a new layer for the line art. This part is easy cause the Rough Sketch has already mapped out where I should draw. It's all about refining it now!

4.) Base Color: So now that I got the line art out of the way, it's time to color! I start with my base colors first.

5.) Shading: I always start with shading before lighting. It's the number one thing you want to work on before lighting because once you draw the shading, then finding where the lighting goes is easy. I love shading cause it really makes things pop out and with the Ken Sugimori style you definitely want to make bold shading.

6.) Lighting: I like thinking that lighting is like the icing on the cake. it's the last thing you do and it helps make the picture stand out.

7.) Finishing touches: Add a cute background and that is it!! OwO

Gah I know, That's a cheesy ending but I'z tired and hungry and the kitchen is calling me \(O^O)/

Good choice! For me, Ruby was my first and that's where I chose Mudkip :3. It was sooo easy to beat team magma with Mudkip since they threw out a lot of fire types lol

I find this little tutorial really helpful! I need some practice when it comes to sketching (I'm really terrible with sketching..).

   Awesome! I'm glad this was helpful for you ! I'm not so perfect with sketching either so you're not the only one . It took me a long time to get to the point where I am now and even then I still find myself learning something new.
