Description
Right off the bat you can already see some design elements that would make it into the final draft such as the beak-like head, armored neck and back, and the hanging vines on the underbelly. Other than that, I didn't really have a solid vision for what I wanted the Raxycodium's upgraded body to look like. This was one such idea toying with a more centipede-like body, sporting multiple thorny vines repurposed as powerful limbs for the mutant plant to scuttle around on. The design just didn't feel imposing enough to me however, and so it was back to the drawing board while keeping the things I did like about this one. The final design would be quadrupedal, and I also had the idea of mashing all of the Raxycodium's "segments" into this new form to lend some continuity between designs, something this one largely lacked. However looking back, this could easily be viewed as an "immature' stage of the Raxycodium's final form, being smaller and more diminutive as it slowly develops into a hulking monster. This isn't me confirming it to be canon or anything, as it contradicts the Raxycodium's story in that it develops underground hidden from sight. Including an "immature" stage that was never seen would be kind of pointless. This is the same reason why you won't likely see the Mk 1 Rosalis as they were deemed to be failures and promptly destroyed. They would both serve no purpose other than to be a steppingstone to their improved versions.
