There's just something about this scene that seems fake to me. I think it's just the bean and the organized tiles reaching the city. It makes the scene appear really controlled, organized. Throwing the bean in there makes it seem almost surreal in a way, and then you get the City a place that's very busy, and often times chaotic. Now how you manage to put all those elements in a photo and somehow find organization in it, you might just have to ask yourself, would this be an accurate portrayal of what Chicago is? To me, no, this isn't, yet this location and picture is something that is real, and actually exists. Think about it

This is indeed an awesome shot.
I think it's the amazing glow, and feathery clouds in the sky that make the picture come alive. Another incredible feature is the reflection on that mirrored object on the left. It acts like a huge fish-eye lens as it a captures the whole image on its surface. It's a wonderful effect.
The perspective of this shot adds to its surrealism. However, it's the overall colour and tone of this piece that makes it special. Everything is beautifully sharp, and the light gives the image a slightly eerie feel.
Once again, this is great photography. You definitely have an "eye for a shot".
I noticed in your earlier replies, you mentioned the Sigma 10-20mm lens. I only wish I had your skill. Nevertheless, this image is an inspiration, and I thank you for sharing it.

Nice photo, but the only thing I can nit pick on is the shading is a lil too prevalent. If it was a little earlier it might have been better. But still a very solid photo

Yeah, but that's a matter of where the sun is hitting, and those bright buildings are being hit by the sun still. But the colors are edited a bit lol.
