Description THIS IS REALLY IMPORTANT SO PLEASE READ IT
THE RECTANGLES SHOULD BE CUT BY
4.5 BY 5 INCHES
I REPEAT
4.5 BY 5 INCHES
NOT
NOT NOT NOT
NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT
I LITERALLY CANNOT CAPS LOCK THIS ENOUGH I GET SO MANY QUESTIONS ASKING FOR THE CORRECT MEASUREMENTS
NOT
2.5 BY 2 INCHES
THAT WOULD BE A RATHER ABSURD SCARF

** And of course if you wanted to make a Roxy scarf you would just get two different shades of pink whoops.

Big file wow, hopefully it's readable.
I'm really bad at making tutorials or instructing people how to do things I don't know why I'm a tutor.
I got an anon ask on Tumblr for a tutorial so I thought I would post it on dA as well. If you want to have this on your blog for whatever reason it may be, please do not repost, rather you can use this:
[link]

Please keep in mind I was writing this at 5 am and I am falling asleep at my chair as I write this description so if there are any grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes, or punctuation, etc. please ignore it and use context clues. If you have any questions about this tutorial please do not hesitate to ask. But I do ask that you look over previous comments so I don't have to answer a similar one many times over.

Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question

So that means on the 18th rectangle we lay down we repeat the color then keep going with the pattern?

Good tutorial thank you very much!
I'm going to make a Erisolsprite scarf and couldn't think of how big the stripes should be. But I'm not using fleece because....I don't want to die of a heatstroke in spring (but it would be so fluffy with fleece!)

How does one turn a scarf inside out? That confuses me. Do you just like... I don't know. Can someone explain this to me?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

InsideImmortaI In reply to EllisElric [2014-03-02 17:47:53 +0000 UTC]

You sew two identical scarves. And then you sew them together by the sides.

Which side did you leave open to turn right side out? A small side or a long side?

NikkiN1234 [2013-07-10 23:41:18 +0000 UTC]

okay, even with the false measurements of 2x2.5 it is litterally impossible to only be able to use half a yard of each, and ESPECIALLY with the revised, 4.5x5. it just doesn't work out! a yard is 36x36, and the full measurement of fabric from 18*4.5 and 18*5 = 81x90. What on earth???? I'm so confused by all of this!

It's okay!! I was literally getting ready to reply until I saw your reply to yourself lmao. But yeah math is silly especially when it comes to sewing so don't sweat it palΒ

Umm.. I didn't really figure it out... I use the metric system, so I'm not really familiar with yards, but how many square yards would I need?

hey um i was thinking could this be done with just a needle??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GentlemanlySpam In reply to plainity [2013-05-19 20:31:16 +0000 UTC]

Yes this certainly could be! If you mean hand sewing, it would take a long time, depending on how fast you sew, but this definitely could be done by hand, yes!
(Hopefully that is what you were asking ahh, I do apologize!)

what is the seam allowance??

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GentlemanlySpam In reply to Dimentedflower [2013-05-19 20:30:10 +0000 UTC]

In my opinion seam allowance measurement is just a personal choice? I suppose anything similar to:
0in < Seam Allowance < Half an Inch
--should be fine!! It is really up to you hahah

How many yards of each color did you need? Like 1/2 yard or 1 yard? I want to make one for my friend

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 2

GentlemanlySpam In reply to KenzShine [2013-01-12 19:24:09 +0000 UTC]

I used approximately half a yard per each color, yup! Good luck with that, I am sure your friend will love it!

KenzShine In reply to KenzShine [2012-12-04 23:33:45 +0000 UTC]

And I forgot to ask, How long is the final product?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

GentlemanlySpam In reply to KenzShine [2012-12-23 23:34:10 +0000 UTC]

Gosh I rarely ever check my DeviantArt, I apologize for replying very late! The final product is approximately 6 feet. I suppose half a yard of each color would be good! Also, the squares should be cut 4.5 by 5, NOT 2.5 by 2 that would be really silly. I wrote this at 5 am, I apologize! Hopefully I did not reply too late! Good luck! u_u
