He wouldn't need so fucking many of them if he didn't make them out of a super soft metal. He would have to be on meth to do something so ridiculous as that, and then lose them all.

I somehow always wondered why you needed them for making rangs. Or in the sequels. They were just collectibles.
But it doesn't need to make sense. That is why we loved it. Same for the fact that he could glide with his rangs. Or jumping so hiiiiigh.
And them delicous colours

lmao I know right? I wonder why they changed everything in the sequels. Same thing with the opals. They went from a limited collectible to a form of currency.
and they always reminded me of cough drops

The only thing that made actual sense were the picture frames.
Amg stop. And the rainbow scales looked like easter eggs. lol

Yeah, the frames were just there, haha. I loved collecting them though. Steve's art style is really pleasing to look at.Β
I completely forgot about the scales, omg they do look like easter eggs.Β

I swear. He's like my biggest idol. His art into the TY games actually made me grab a pencil and start drawing.
And I never ever found all the Frills that were disguised as koalas in TY2 because I never understood what to do. But now I wonder.....are there actually any easter eggs in the game(s)?)

Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is honestly the reason I wanted to become a storyteller. It's also the reason why I love drawing anthropomorphic animals.
That's a good question. I know in Ty 3 you can find the first boss from Ty 1, if that counts? He's just kinda chillin' in a pasture. I never bothered with 100% completion on Ty 2 and 3. Everything takes too much effort to find, lol.

Efalt In reply to GentlemanTurtle101 [2017-01-08 16:23:56 +0000 UTC]
For me it's why I love drawing in general.
Never got to play TY3 because they never released here in Europe for whatever reason. I actually know that the concept art galleries had hints for a sequel. Like TY1 for TY2, TY2 for TY3 and even TY3 for such a thing called Gunjyp. But not sure if that counts?

I know there's Ty 4 on Steam. It became a 2D sidescroller, though.Β I got Ty 3 for Christmas. It's okay. There are too many missions with mechs, that's my main complaint. I think the storyline is more engaging than Ty 2. I wonder why it never got released to Europe?
Tbh the most enjoyable part of Ty 3 was talking to npcs. Especially Cass.

I really enjoyed TY4. Recently finally beat it at 100% (Yet so many people were complaining because it was no 3D platformer)
Well I managed playing the beginning a bit. It was just so dark and different from the previous ones.
And no idea. Maybe because uninteresting for the europeen market?Β It's sad actually. I love the games a lot.
I just was really shocked at the end. And I still don't like it somehow.

The Ty franchise really is an underrated gem. I'm kind of disappointed by all the complaints for Ty 4. Krome worked hard to produce another game, despite a limited budget.
I hated the ending for Ty 3. Fluffy was really starting to grow on me.

Efalt In reply to GentlemanTurtle101 [2017-01-08 17:04:12 +0000 UTC]
That's exactly the reason why I was kinda disappointed of the reactions too. They made it for the fans only. They could also have said no.
She's like my favourite character from the whole series.

GentlemanTurtle101 In reply to Efalt [2017-01-08 17:11:34 +0000 UTC]
Exactly. Krome didn't have to make a sequel, but the fans wanted it.
Although, I didn't care for the ending of that one either. Boss Cass was always my favorite.

But people seem to like complaining about stuff as it seems.
I actually like Cass too. All of the villains like the blue tongues. Like their deasigns!

People are strange like that. The Ty franchise definitely has some of the best character designs
And in Ty 3 Cass has a quote where he sounds like a pissed off girlfriend/mother and it's fucking hilarious.

It's a little bit later in the game. He says it if you talk to him in Cassopolis, after you get Shazza back.
I'm much too entertained by it

Well maybe with a bit of chance it will get released on steam too. I'll just throw all my money at it then and play it without taking a break.
Well as weird as it sounds I am used by playing the german vers of the games. So there might be certain jokes they just couldn't translate (I am sure that this happened a lot in TY2)
π: 0 β©: 1
GentlemanTurtle101 In reply to Efalt [2017-01-08 17:53:59 +0000 UTC]
Let's hope so. I feel as if more people know about Ty now because the first game is on Steam.
That is a good point. I'm sure those jokes are written differently to appeal to different senses of humor.

Have the same feeling. Now people can do play the game they have missed like....what? 15 years already?
Just the french version sounds so weird at some parts.

GentlemanTurtle101 In reply to Efalt [2017-01-08 18:08:39 +0000 UTC]
Oh god has it really been that long?
I should look up the french version. I know the English version had a glitch where the pink seahorse from Ship Rex would suddenly speak in French.

Srsly. I feel like really old now.
I actually think I remember this glitch. It wasn't only in the English one.....I think.
π: 0 β©: 1
GentlemanTurtle101 In reply to Efalt [2017-01-08 18:17:03 +0000 UTC]
Honestly, same.
Maybe. I also know that people found glitches where you can skip across entire levels

Efalt In reply to GentlemanTurtle101 [2017-01-08 18:21:15 +0000 UTC]
Man I still remember when I got my first TY game. (Actually started with TY2 for whatever reason)
There actually ways a glitch (then it was still early access on steam) where you saw in Rex Marks the Spot that one cave with the Squid floating in the air. Well I think it was a glitch lol But people seem to find everything that can make you cheat in games.

GentlemanTurtle101 In reply to Efalt [2017-01-08 18:29:59 +0000 UTC]

π: 0 β©: 1
Efalt In reply to GentlemanTurtle101 [2017-01-08 18:35:40 +0000 UTC]
That's something we will never find out. Or they actually just sit around all day long for looking for such glitches.
Or they actually know about game design and the most common glitches/bugs around that time and knew where to look?
Or they somehow put it on their PCs and rewrite the script for it?
I just really don't know.

Too bad the line about collecting cogs was basically the only line they payed attention to, and they didn't even know why they had to collect them.
