Lets Wikiattack!!In Greek mythology, Thanatos (in Ancient Greek, θάνατος – "Death") was the Daemon personification of Death and Mortality. He was a minor figure in Greek mythology, often referred to but rarely appearing in person. His name is transliterated in Latin as Thanatus, but his Roman equivalent was Mors or Letus/Letum, and he was sometimes identified (perhaps erroneously) with Orcus.

I recently played Kid Icarus Uprising for the 3DS and ur Thanatos... IS WAAAAY better looking. great game with great greek god characters... mostly a funnier and more eccentric take on things.

To all who will ask about that girl:
As artist stated, he imagined Thanatos to be bit like Testament from Guilty Gear. From Guilty Gear X and beyond, one of things he can summon is a succubus familiar. Where the succubus familiar might not look exacly like the girl int he picture, you can tell the inspiration.

From somewhere I read Thanatos had a scarred eye from a battle, somewhat discolored but he can see out of it just fine, kinda like how a God would never want to forget his mistake or something. What I wonder is how come you gave Thanatos a red head, lol, any reasoning behind that?

Actually, in Greek Mythology Thanatos and Hypnos or Upnos were brothers. In some references they were even twins.
