Description
Yet another attempt at a Medieval style Godzilla. I like this version much better than the first one.

Some basic ideas that I've already settled on are:
- Godzilla is last living member of a clan of sea dragons that normally resides in underwater sea caverns.
- Rodan is a giant, featherless bird of prey that lives in mountains and feeds on livestock.
- The story takes place between the 1300's and 1400's.
1. How should I incorporate space monsters like Gigan, King Ghidorah, Orga, etc.? Not really sure how fit them in a medieval setting without straying too far from their roots.
2. How big should the kaiju be? I've been thinking of making the majority them in the 40 - 60 ft range to fit better with the smaller buildings of the Middle Ages and to allow for better interaction with humans.
3. Would anything mechanical like the Super X or Mechagodzilla work in this type of setting?
4. Since atomic bombs didn't exist in the Middle Ages and, that as I've already mentioned, Godzilla lives in an underwater sea cavern where humans couldn't normally reach, what reason could he have for attacking and being angry at humanity? Keep in mind that this incarnation of Godzilla isn't outright malevolent and only attacks when provoked.

So you are making this a full blown story? That is both awesome and frightening.
-G: Sounds about right, not a ton you could really do with him considering the setting. However I can suggest he be a sort of ocean guardian figure who comes up from the depths whenever the ocean is disturbed, such as city run-off polluting the water, over fishing/hunting or something like ocean combat which might just annoy him.
-R: That would be one idea. Considering the setting Rodan would also translate well into a Wyvern or dragon, since they fill a similar niche but are something much more common in the myths of the time.
The Aliens: Hmmm, now that is a tough one, I'm not sure there is a way you could bring in Gigan, the closest thing to his biology is a bird or turtle. That gives me an idea. In Greek myth Stymphalian birds had metal feathers and a taste for human flesh. Simple make a large blade armed, semi-metalic version with one eye, a battle wound instead of cyclopian biology. Now that gives me an idea. The 'alien' monsters could easily be creatures from other mythologies, such as the Greek birds above for Gigan. Orga would translate well into a giant turtle, something that features heavily in Chinese and Japanese myths while King Ghidorah practically owns the East who have long standing histories with multi-headed dragons.
-Machines: Perhaps. The easiest way to translate robot into a fantasy setting are golems which are just constructs of rock or metal given will. The Super X I have no idea, maybe a Norse battle weapon as Dwarves feature a lot in their myth so something as crazy as a giant flying steam-tank would not be too far out of character.
-G Motive: As stated above, this Godzilla translates into a mythic sea serpent or an ocean guardian creature very easily. Perhaps he is angry that humans dare invade his realm at all, seeing boats as an offense to the way of nature. Or he is just annoyed that they are overstepping their place and taking or perverting his home. As a way to really get his attention, I would say an explosive naval battle creates a bunch of wrecks that float down and manage to bump into the Big-G.
Now, this gives me a few thoughts of my own. I am assuming that you are starting in England where the classic idea of these ages comes from. So my question would be this: Given the setting, would they know 'Godzilla' by this name? At least not until meeting some Japanese and mishearing Gojira. So what would the old English call him?

Interesting concept. If you’re trying to medieval-ize kaiju, I suggest looking up Dr. Ernest Drake’s Dragonology: The Complete Book of Dragons. It’s not serious or accurate by any stretch of the imagination, but it does give a lot of interesting designs, legends, and miscellaneous information on Dragons.
