Very impressive. Hopefully some day I'll have enough art to do a timeline of my own.

I love your pictures of Charlotte Elbourne and Meier Link (Mayerling on 3rd novel) and The Last Unicorn too.
I see your evolution and I envy you ^_^, youΒ΄re a REAL artist. Your drawings reflect a personality full with inventive and passion.
Great work!!

Julia! I love seeing this. I must have first discovered you in 2001 because I remember it was Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust works that caught my eye in the first place. Your early works just scream raw unchained talent and your later works are so refined and subtly beautiful. Congratulations miss! You rock! I still hope to go to a convention to see you in person someday.

These are amazing to see lined up like this.

I'd love to read the Kingdom Hearts fanfics you were writing - do you have a link anywhere?

Either way, it's really cool to see the changing styles. ^^

How long have you been drawing for?

ghostfire In reply to uaeslayer [2008-03-27 19:10:33 +0000 UTC]

At least as long as I could pick up a crayon, so I guess I've been scrawling for at least twenty-five years, since I was a year and a half old.

O em gee! It's Raziel!! You know, it's funny but I never meet very many LoK fans. Glad to have found another who was as inspired by LoK as I was...

Very nice retrospective - I think I remember tuning in to your work around 2001 as I remember the pictures in that year's selection. Wonderful progress you've made. I think you've also inspired me to try and put together a timeline too. Woot.

It is so encouraging to see this. I'm currently focusing the majority of my efforts into digital coloring, with the help of my photoshop teacher Jose Villarrubia, and I've been making a lot of progress...but I have a long way to go before I start posting paintings that are anywhere near as tight as yours. To see your beginnings and the way you advanced gives me hope and really inspires me to work as hard as I can.

If I were to judge my own progress, I think I'd place myself between your 2001 and 2002.

Damn, I need to watch Bloodlust again; that was SUCH a good movie.....

wow, that is one huge leap between 2000 and 2001. College the reason?
Anyway, love these timelines, and this is great.

I agree, watching these sort of timelines is fun. I'm always quite interested in an artist's developement, and seeing all these pieces next to each other, it's also easier to spot the artist's autograph/"handwriting", so to speak. (Which interests me most of all.)

Not to mention it's encouring not to give up and keep practicing, hahah!

Squeee!! There's Staves! I still love it so much. It's wonderful seeing your progress, but lol, makes me feel like I've been slacking soooo horribly. Which I have.

And now, I really wish I'd have spent the extra money for the detail background, lol. Your backgrounds are as gorgeous as your characters.

too bad i don't have enough old art or i'd do something like this. i think that when i decided to take art seriously 17 years ago the art would be way too embarrassing to show...again, if i could find any of it. then again i was notorious when i was younger for not dating my art. o.O;;

I remember when I was in sixth grade and looked back at my old art, thinking how embarrassingly bad it was. I can only hope that in twelve years I've advanced enough that I find my work from 2008 just as awful. ^^
