Description
Sometimes, while we take the time to look at nature...It's really nature that takes time to take a look at us.
****
Sde Boker, Negev, Israel.
Sde Boker -
Founded in 1952, it became a dateline for journalists filing stories around the world when David Ben-Gurion, then Prime Minister, made this his second home in 1953.
About 400 people live in Sde Boker, including rotating groups of visiting youngsters who come from abroad to further their knowledge of Judaism and the Hebrew language. There is a small children's zoo (entrance fee) and a restaurant/snack bar/gift shop selling kibbutz-grown nuts, fresh fruit and hand-made jewellery.
Sede Boqer has remained an agricultural kibbutz (with chicken houses and an adhesive tape factory) at a time when many kibbutzim are changing and abandoning some of the ideals of equality.
Anyway,
I was walking in Sde Boker for the first time.
There is a small lane to walk very near to the beautiful view. I was walking and I noticed a bench with this vision in front of them. It took me a second to see the face, and I was amazed.
It seems that they didn't notice the face in the mountain, since they asked me what was I shooting

The mountain face will look much more like a Santa Clause if a hat is being added to it.

I know this isn't a new one!
...but I never saw it before and when I found it around deviantArt today I was stunned... like many times when I look at your images.

Hey, this is a pretty nice pic! In fact, come to think of it, you can probably sell it on a microstock photography website like the ones I listed below, under the nature search listing. I have been working on selling my own photos, and have several that were just listed the other day. It is a pretty cool system: companies can cut costs for photos by buying them from microstock sites rather than paying their own photographers, and you get paid every time an individual or company buys your photo(s). The signup for these kinds of accounts is free, and you get a cut of the pay. (the only reason it is free to register with them is because they take a portion of every sale.) Also, when a company buys your photo, they don't get the copyright, so they have to buy it a whole bunch of times, once for every time they use it! The photos never leave the microstock site, and will earn you passive income every time they sell for years to come. Exciting? Oh yeah!
Have fun! (I would recommend bigstock the most, since they currently have a short waiting list for photo approval, and approvals are lightning fast!) Crestock and Shutterstock are tougher to get into since they have a skill level requirement, unlike the others, but will pay you a higher cut of your photo sales.) I would give it a go next time you find yourself with some free time, perhaps you will be a hit if you have more amazing photos like this one!
Cheers!

Great one! I love this kind of stuff. When i was in my last annual school trip to mahtesh ramon, there was this huge monstrous hamster face in the side of a mountain. Made me very sad i didn;t have a camera. (ofcource i was even sadder when we got to Nahal Gishron the next day, cos that was the most beautiful place i'v ever seen...)

The face of the nature... watching, thinking, trying to understand what are we doing to our planet? Maybe...

"Oh look at that mountain, I wonder how old it is."
"I wonder why they're looking at me, I ain't no bearded lady in the circus.."
The contrast you captured here is lovely. Just how you said that nature is looking at us instead of us looking at "it". Just great.

That's amazing!! )))
It's too bad that kibbutzes are vanishing... my mom lived in one for a little while and she remembers it fondly.
