Description
The Armos is a most intriguing being. It's thought to be a statue brought to life by magic. It often attacks travellers that pass by it unexpectedly, and on numerous occasions it has been shown to be capable of killing with relative ease. Its fighting style is rather unique- though while not actively in combat or expecting to enter combat it moves fluidly like most other monsters, during battle it moves with significant deliberation and with an unusual rigidity, almost actively avoiding bending its limbs into anything that wouldn't be a reasonable pose for a statue. It's thought that is is not a biological but perhaps a practiced behavior. It is capable of swordfighting with a significantly higher skill than most other monsters. Its jumping slashes are particularly deadly- the metallic armor it wears, while not incredibly hard, is very tough and heavy, allowing it to slice through foes simply by landing its blade on them. When a foe is significantly weakened, however, it is known to (perhaps intentionally) overshoot during a jumping slash and land directly on its foe. It then returns to its prior behavior, save of course for the added soothing of its abdomen. Armos are particularly known for appearing in abandoned towns or in locations of significant prestige, perhaps in an attempt to blend in with other statues or monuments.
