marshdapple is fat and muscular. she has long and thick light brown fur that kinks and curls in various places. has a flatter face that is framed by a thick mane of lighter fur. her paws are tipped with this lighter fur as well. she has random spots and splotches of darker brown on her face, back, haunches, and tail. marshdapple has muddy green eyes that are smaller but very expressive.

   ◯ marshdapple rarely talks about her experiences as a kit. her mother, greenbark, died while kitting marshdapple and her brother, frogleg, and their father, slightfeather, blamed his new kits for the loss of his beloved mate. he was often neglectful, violent, and emotionally abusive to his children but seemed to resent marshdapple most of all. she and frogleg were nursed and raised by various queens, and relied on each other for support than any other member of the clan. marshkit was always wide eyed for a world unknown to her and would marvel at the changing of the seasons or slow decomposition of crow food. even her father's cruel nature could not snuff out her natural curiosity and appreciation for the things she had not yet seen or did not understand.

apprenticeship ◯ 6-12 m

   ◯ marshdapple and her beloved brother were not apprenticed together because the latter came down with greencough a day before his ceremony. marshdapple was devastated but welcomed her new found freedom with the exuberance many had come to expect from her. after all, with a mentor monitoring her closely, she would have to spend less time with slightfeather. though she need not have worried, shortly after she was named marshpaw, slightfeather died of an infection from a wound he'd received sparing with his current apprentice. marshdapple was relieved and shocked by her own joy at the death of her father. she tried to talk to her brother about this but he did not respond well, denying their father's abuses and calling marshdapple a heartless monster. it was then she decided that concealing her monstrous and unpleasant emotions was the only way to avoid being despised. while she did poorly in many hunting exercises, marshdapple had always been good at fighting and sparring-- proving herself to be a true warrior in a border skirmish against thunderclan.
