I bet a lot of CSS people would love to have that as an extra feature

Sadly it can't be customized. Realized this too late

Anyone being able to use "right click-> show source code" or Firebug would be able to do this

But thanks though

Extremely detailed and informative as usual. Great stuff!

One (probably pretty stupid) question though: How do you even get to customize the white Journal style in the first place? For me, whenever I enter even the most trivial CSS rule (such as addressing all elements), it automatically switches to the green gruze style…

Thank you!

Hm, good question. I haven't really played around with that default skin. Guess it's not made to be modified?
Need to play around a bit to be able to give you a better answer.

Yep, seems like that to me too… which is actually quite a pity, as those .mavatar and .author elements would be pretty handy for Jounal skins that use the name and avatar of the author in their header (so those wouldn't have to be manually modified in the Edit CSS box anymore).

PS: Nice placeholder text! Certainly more creative than Lorem Ipsum

It's really weird that you can't even make small changes like adding borders. I am pretty much sure that there are people who would love to use modifications of this skin.

Haha thanks. Found it a while ago as a customer was complaining about "Lorem Ipsum" in a webdesign as he wasn't able to understand what it was all about

Well, it looks like they simply haven't added support for the new skin yet, as the "Skin Help" section of the CSS editor still explains the option of either using the 'old' (really old) or the 'new' (gruze, which is not actually 'new' anymore) skin as a base.

…which brings me to the question: Would it be worth suggesting the addition of the white skin as a third option? Or do you think that suggestion would practically have no chance of being regarded as hardly anyone would benefit from it?

Wasn't even aware of that before. I just made this tutorial because it was a request, without checking of how much you can customize before. Fail time

Not sure if they will do that. Maybe they are already working on something new again. And it would be among the top 5 of the to-do list of the staff anyway.
The "easiest" solution would be to mimic that skin with an installable one.

Creating a "fake" default skin might not be a bad idea actually, the problem is just that the avatar, author name and category can't be included in the skin's header because they are not existent in the gruze style. Anyway, I'll definitely note down the idea and might actually give it a go at a later point.

Yeah, that's right. You have to recreate everything, which would be a bit annoying especially for the category stuff.
