Description
locketEtymology: Middle French loquet latch, from Middle Dutch loke; akin to Old English loc
Def: a small case usually of precious metal that has space for a memento and that is worn typically suspended from a chain or necklace
... interesting ^^
somehow this reminded me of mom's old pic when she was young. the color are rather pale and sepia tone. the person in the photo never look straight into the camera and always seem to be daydreaming or looking at something else.
i'm listening to U2's song and Bono is singing about putting someone's pic in his locket. hence the title, haha.
Illustrator, pen tool
Photoshop to tweak the colors (I have a tendency to choose colors that are too pale to be seen)

This one is so interesting... I love how the torso is semi out of the frame, as are the flowers. Her expression really does convey the loss of attention due to daydreaming. I like it!

thanks! now that i take another look at it, i kinda wish i added more texture to the background and more details to the flower (i'm obsessed with flower details XD)
glad you like it, it is still one of my fav work.

i really love the muted colours you've used, does make it look like it has a little history too
those dusky pinks and faded browns work really well together
love how you cut her off with the flower stem
and the flowers are really unusual and understated too
beautiful pic

thank you! i fear bright colors for no reason, so i've been limiting myself to muted colors where i feel most comfortable.

I shall fall in love with you so so much, really! I love everything you do! From the soft ethereal lovely lineart to the precise solid coloring! It's just everything I can't seem to do and it looks oh so pretty!
I love the design here, using light floral colors against a grey background. And I love the way she looks away dreamily with her lips half-open as if about to say something! T_T I want to draw prettily like you! bwaaah!

i based this drawing from a photo in a fashion magazine. it's not a realistic drawing, but i tried to capture the essence of her facial expression. a good practice would be using tracing paper. after sometimes, your brain and your hand will get accustomed with the drawing that you don't have to use reference. i still use reference because i need to learn how to draw different kind of pose ^^
i still need much practice with vector. i spent more than 6 hours to complete this! but to be honest, not even the greatest software can help bad drawing, so ... practice! (i'm still in search of my style, so yea, i still do sketches)

I know, Photoshop 7 has not helped my crappy lineart one bit! *sighs* I'll try to do the tracing paper bit, it sounds like it might help. Thanks!

ooh, tough one, i have no idea how to make a tutorial. do you have illustrator software?
you can do vector work with photoshop too actually but illustrator gives the ability to maximize the vector work to ... theoritically, infinity without pixelization (that is, the final drawing will still be nice and sharp even with 1000x magnification)
anyway whatever your answer will be, send me a note with your email. we'll continue the talk from there ^^ i tend to talk a bit too much.
