Roger Rabbit is exposing the sole of his foot to the camera. Every single scene was carefully choreographed by the director which means Roger lifting up his foot exposing the sole was planned. I wouldn't be surprised on take 15 or so the director had stopped filming of Roger not showing off the soles of his feet enough because it was in the script. The director did stopped the 23rd take on this short over Roger seeing birds not stars which for the audience would have been trivial.
