Description
One moment, one momentNo one ever mentioned drowning would feel this good
To be swept away, the rest of the world forgot
Submerged completely, touched all over
Such contact, so strong, so invasive
the assault so foreign and unknown,
An awareness that leaves you hungry
To have your life, your very existence challenged
Liquid nutrients fulfill your lungs
Every breath of oxygen raw and harsh on your mouth
Leaving a taste oh so bitter
Fighting against your own confinement
ripping at the skin, pulling at your skeleton
As this feeling swoons, instinct empowered
as time suddenly stops
No
As the waves crush against you
turning everything you’ve known inside-out
The current takes you wildly ashore
You are left numb and feverish
Struggling to succumb with the grips of reality
Only one thought remains
One question left
Why am I so dead,
One moment, one fleeting moment
after being so alive?

Interesting depiction of the way the 'tide turns' from one moment to another, I like the contrasts
