Description
"Hell is the fourth planet out from the star Delta Pavonis. Settlement was begun in A.C. 35, originally by Jewish immigrants from Selva. More than 90 Percent of the immigrants perished in the first two years, the surviving fraction maintaining a precarious existence in the desert regions, which. though barely habitable, at least are free form the most terrifying fauna that dominate the rest of the planet's land and sea area.""In A.C. 63 these immigrants sold their charter to the corporation Mercenarios Universal, S.A., a firm of freelance soldiers who wanted to use the desert as a training ground. Over the centuries, the corporation extended it domain to include various subtropical and arctic areas. The scope of the corporation also expanded, to training military leaders of other planets, and finally to renting out desolate areas of Hell itself, for countries that want to wage war without risking one another's real estate..."

Not really. The planet texture was built up from half a dozen stock images of plaster walls and rust, that's about it. Everything else was PS.

Thanks. Took a bit of time, as they always do. The contrast tool can really help in getting unique results.

I should have made the planet in my "Golden gates of Hell" look like this, really well done interetsing story to go with it too, though it does make me question how the planet is almost perfectly "halved" between the safe areas and the volcanic areas

Actually, the red areas are supposed to represent battles, nukes going off, fires, etc. I continued to brush towards the lighted part of the planet and as I did so the intensity of those lights really began to diminish.

I had a slight feeling they might be man-made explosions...I guess they must be really huge then, they put the Horishima bomb to shame
