This gown was created with two main inspirations- and they have accounts on IG you may already be following!

The style of the gown was based on Firefly Path's elvish designs through the years. If you don’t know, I actually got my start in professional costume making with JoEllen in 2013 and forever look at her as a source of inspiration. I’m so thankful for everything she has done for me over the years- friendship, knowledge, guidance- she is an absolute treasure! The cape pattern was based on her Scale Mail tutorial. She has lots of wonderful patterns and tutorials available and if you see fantasy garments, I highly recommend her!

The color scheme and overall theme of this gown were based on the Aqua Fairy Mermaid Tail by @finfolkproductions . I love the color scheme. I mimicked the ombré of the tail (Teal > Aqua > Purple) in the overskirt (surprisingly a very difficult task- that teal was very hard to capture!) the scales on the cape are also by Finfolk. An absolute iridescent dream- they were really easy to work with and I think bring the whole look together in an absolute whimsical way. I’m so excited to play with the new scales I purchased recently and can’t wait to show you what else is up my sleeves 🧚‍♀️ 🧜‍♀️ .
