A question about the style of this picture: Looking at this at full size, I notice a lot of lightly colored lines in seemingly random places, almost as if the picture had gotten scratched up. Is there any purpose to these besides adding extra texture to the image?

Sadly, no. This was painted in SAI, not openCanvas, so I don't have a recording of the process. I prefer to record illustrations with more context anyway.
