Sleepy Tails is sleepy.
Nice of Amy to carry him back to the Tornado. It's either that or put his hand in a bowl of warm water. 
Also, a shout-out to for providing the maxim on the doorway plaque (translated into Latin).Anyway, just a reminder that I need to take a one-week respite to give myself additional time to draw the rest of the issue. The next page will be uploaded on March 19th (although Patreon donators can view it next Monday). To fill the hiatus, I will be uploading my comic page tutorial to share the secret technique of how I draw a page of Sonic Retold from start to finish. It will be posted in several parts daily later this week. Stay tuned!

This is a webcomic, so there's no fixed number of pages to adhere to. The first issue was barely twenty pages, this one will be longer.

One of the reasons I prefer this comic to ASO is it's a lot darker. it's the way sonic comics need to be imo.

I like the way you've been making it so far. in the very first issue we had a character get killed off. that's pretty dark. especially since it was a well liked character. That's like some game of thrones stuff. That and the overall tone just seem a lot darker in many respects than the official comics, which in my opinion make it more compelling and cool.

Im interested in the emotional state of Elias, he looks... angry, frustrated and tired... not in the same way than Tails, just tired for the situation. In fact, was a good fact to show us a Tails phisically tired to show us the contrast between been tired for do many things or just dont sleep and and Elias who is tired in an emotional way. I like than he shows worry about Sally.
Im enjoying too than the comic is touching the part than Acorn family feelings about Naugus been king of THEIR kingdom.
Naugus is an important villian and its good than the reader started to perceive him as a REAL danger and not just another problem.
I like than all the dialogue round the theme about the things than Eggman dont must to know while the doll is spying.
Its a good touch than you show us the phisical perspective of the doll (the bottom of the room) dont let us to forget than it is there
And talking about that doll... ITS CREEPY! Not just its image, and its purpose... the fact than its "alive" and the way than its moves... crawling on the floor... it give me nightmares!

There is something very... odd about the way Nicole is holding his arm. If I saw a woman doing that to my husband with a look like this that's more than just friendly, I'd be ticked off.
Let's see... It means "to light through darkness" if I'm not mistaken, and having them walk into the sunlight right below the sign is a bit overt on the symbolism, isn't it?
You even managed to give the doll a bit cuteness despite how creepy it's supposed to be.

Funny, a few other people on the stream commented about Elias and Nicole walking with arms locked. Can a man not chaperone a woman these days without implying romance? And if think the plaque is too obvious, maybe I should have gone with DarthJamaay's suggestion instead. He wanted me to write "EXIT".

Well, it's not the chaperoning part that bugs me, but she's an AI. She almost never physically does anything since the city's nanites bend to her will and social conventions such as escorting are a relatively new concept to her. It could be my bad memory, but I can only remember her touching people under emotional circumstances. It would feel far more natural for her to disappear and materialize at her destination.

Warping might be more natural for Nicole, but it would also be insensitive. She saw Elias under stress from discussing the loss of Sally and his kingdom, so she wanted to escort him outside. Warping instead is tantamount to telling a friend "I'll just drive ahead and you can catch up on foot, 'kay?" The emotional support others have shown her in recent issues have made her sympathetic enough to know when someone could use the company of a friend.

Then maybe it's the eye contact that makes it feel wrong. If she'd been looking at him while he looked ahead (even without changing his expression), it possibly would have come across as more of a comforting gesture than an intimate one.
